Camper Trailer Drawings Needed
« on: August 19, 2011, 07:09:34 PM »
Hi all.

Being a little inspired by some of the builds I have seen on here and collecting a few ideas in my head I thought I would look at getting a camper trailer built to my (or should I say a few different swaggers) design. I have spoken to a trailer builder and supplied some pics etc of how I see it working but they are wanting to get some drawings to work from (they aren't local to me so cant pop in to oversee the project).

Soooooo.....

Is there any swagger here suitably gifted that might be able to take my vision and with the help of some pictures etc help me draft up some drawings the manufacturer could work from???

Obviously happy to pay for the help.

Cheers,

Mark

Hey Mark

I am happy to do them on google sketchup if you provide the sketch or the details.

Is the fella still building trailers on the oxley highway near the produce place.  Lacks social skills but builds an okay trailer.  ;)

Hi Dazzler.

Thanks for the offer - very much appreciated. Is google sketch up hard to use? I guess I could have a crack first and maybe get some help to tidy up?? Or  would it be easier for you to start from scratch??

Yeah the trailer factory is still there. I did have a chat to him but he didn't instill a lot of confidence to be honest. This is the friend of a friend of a friend of a friend type situation but located South of Sydney so whilst I'll be able to get down there for the odd weekend it will be a bit of a leap of faith.

Hi Mark

Its not hard to use though there are some tricks to getting it setup but not too difficult.

Probably easiest to post what your chassis size is, I can knock up the chassis, save it and then email it to you.  (cant link to sketchup files on this forum)

You can then work away knowing you have the basic file saved and can go back and forth.

sketchup is free to download.

cheers

Dazzler.... mate I downloaded it and started to play.... suffice to say I think it might be best if i get someone else to do it for me lol.... never really considered myself computer challenged but a bit beyond me I think (I must have somehow missed the handyman, fix it up, woodworking, welding and technical drawing genes).

Mate pm me your email address and i'll send through what i have in terms of pictures etc.

Tell me what you drink and I'll organise that for you too
