Just Shits me that while we are out working hard someone would brake in and steal our stuff my wife came home and noticed our door open. Went through everything stole cash jewellry  tv laptops waeco nail guns and chainsaw heaps more even went through medicine cabinet looking for drugs i guess.  Anyhow i hope there next hit is agood one that ruins their life.

at least they didnt raid the beer fridge.

I feel for you edsnav as I know exactly what its like, our house got broken into last year, heaps was taken and it turned out to be 14 year old kids, they were selling the stuff they took down at the local high school. Hope they catch whoever broke in and you manage to get some of your stuff back, or are covered by insurance. Good luck with it all.

The trouble is we have interfered with natures fine balance.Darwins survival of the strogest wont work while we support the bogans on the dole, cut it off and let them go....Perhaps they needed the money for a tattoo on their 10yr old or a new pirtek jumper or perhaps get the rat tail washed.

That's shocking Eddy. I would rather catch up with them first. The police do the right thing then the bloody judges let them off with a slap on the wrist. Be different if it was their house. I would head around to the local pawn stores and tell them what is missing. Maybe they will keep an eye out.

We were broken into 3 days before Christmas 2008. They took everything under the tree, as well as heirloom jewellery and game consoles, my laptop with all our family pics for 5 years.

Not being able to sleep is normal and it will pass. Hopefully the cops do a decent job with the home. The fingerprint guy took 2 days to turn up and we could not touch anything before or tidy up the mess.
Get yourself an alarm and use it. We had one but it was not on as the wife had gone for 10 minutes to pick up the kids from school.

I bet you will know the person/s that did it. Almost certainly they are local/within the suburb, if not within a few streets.

We suspect who did ours but cant pin him with anything. A kid and his mate, 2 years older than my own.

We had it happen twice in three months back in the ninetys . According to the insurance company that is quite a common occurence because the thieves know that there will be a heap of new stuff that has just been replaced. Beware!
As well as the usuals we lost a couple of large bags ; used to carry off the booty . I think a lot of daytime burglaries are done on foot . Cars have numbers on them and can be a liability to people who do this on a regular basis .
A back to base alarm system was installed and we have had no trouble since ; even though we had drug dealers next door for a while but that is another story ............
The back to base system costs less than ten dollars a week and is worth it for the peace of mind.

An alarm siren/strobe box out the front and window stickers will deter the majority of thieves.

At the very least a well designed/installed alarm will limit the time thieves spend on site to a minute or less. They will grab the first thing they see and take off once the sirens trip instead of sifting through your belongings for hours on end.

In my area of the world the standard "back to base" monitoring charge is less than a $1 a day for residential sites.

It's the sort of thing that is normally considered a waste of money untill this happens to your home.

Sorry about your loss, hope they catch the bast$#@^.  When the alarm company installed ours (didnt get burgled) he said that 80% of the alarms they install are immediately after the home being burgled.

Police do what they can but their hands are tied. Its up to the court system to enforce law and to hand out maximum penalties when required, which seems to rarely occur.

My parents were broken into a couple of years ago - they were at home in the back yard at the time! Here's hoping the cops catch up with them before you do!

Theives Abound - Sydney Inner West
Just issuing a warning to all Prado (& RAV4) owners, there is currently a spate of theft of parts off RAVs and Prados in the inner west of Sydney, in particular Earlwood, Campsie and Bardwell Park areas (according to Police). For instance my brother (120 series) had his spare wheel & cover stolen 2 weeks ago and 2 days ago they came back and stole both side steps. I suggest that you padlock your spare wheel.

By the way - they are brazen as they entered his property on both occasions!!

What can you do ,  B/inlaw 6'2' and a police  sargent , house fully alarmed ,stickers on every door and windows , Rottweiller dog close to 60kg , neighbourhood watch area , all neighbours in the job or armed forces / prison guards ., and still got broken into by a bunch of nohoper toerags.

In my area (Bathurst) there have been several Camper Trailers stolen recently . A guy from work went downtown one morning and when he returned his C/T was gone . Stolen out of the driveway in broad daylight .
A couple of weeks later I picked up the Xtrk and spent several evenings after work coming up with this hitch cover/lock/support leg.The padlock is supported up inside that vertical sleeve and the key has been rivetted to an old hacksaw blade to allow it to reach the barrel. Weight is about 20 kilos .

I hear your pain, We went through it just over 12 months ago, first day of the school holidays funnily enough, Everything was replaced under insurance apart from the photos which I now back up externally, unfortunatly I learnt this the hard way.

One thing I learnt though is when you head out leave your blinds open so people can see in, thieves love the blinds being closed as once their in the house no one can see them going through your gear.

I now have an alarm installed by a good friend who builds high end alarm systems, even monitors my gates, I reccomend everyone get themselves an alarm

Alarm installed today back to base,our blinds were open they parked a subaru wagon in our driveway and loaded it up seen by neighbour who disturbed them and got the number plate but the car was stolen.
