Great service from Alko RE: offroad hitch
« on: July 21, 2011, 04:34:38 PM »
Gday,

I was backing up to the camel last weekend and bumped into the hitch.Alkos new offroad ball hitch has a red plastic lever on the front and i snapped it partly off. Golly gee i said..................
I called the melbourne factory direct on monday and by thursday a new part was on my doorstep in port macquarie FOC.

This  has posed a few questions. Is plastic( im not sure what kind it is) suitable for an off road hitch? Its really easy to use, hook up and looks as tough as other alko bits.
It still functioned fine with the busted "finger" so i guess thats a positive if it happens in the bush.

If you have one of these and are reversing blind I suggest tilting the hitch vertically so the ball reciever is facing the 4x4 and wont matter if you go too far.

I have no association with the company, just love great service!!
Cheers
Pete
