Leisure Matters Campers?
« on: July 20, 2011, 06:00:26 PM »
Firstly I apologise if this is posted in the wrong section.  I had a browse and thought this was the most suitable area to ask my question?

There is a (dreaded?) ebay add I stumbled upon when searching for camper trailers.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-ALUMINIUM-OFF-ROAD-Caravan-Camper-Trailer-Tent-NSW-/170659521633?pt=AU_Trailers&hash=item27bc19a461

Sure likes like the shniz.  I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with these campers?  From the features/prices it almost to me (being a cynical type), that if it sounds to good to be true, it usually is.  Anyones thoughts or inputs or preferrably first hand input on exactly what these CT's are like?

I really do appreciate any input from sorting the chaff from the wheat.

Note: I searched on here for the "brand"but it came up empty.

Personally I would not buy any CT on Ebay unless you could inspect the exact item prior to the sale, never buy site unseen to avoid :'( :'(

All great advice, especially site unseen.  I was just pondering what other deals are out there.

I have a Tambo and the basic model is under $8000, http://www.tambocampers.com.au/Cooper.html

Customline, under $8000 as well, http://www.customline.com.au/cms-models/index.phps

Check out trackabout and all the other major brands, you will be suprised what you can find.

Also look at the secod hand market for a well built strong camper.

Hi Guys,
I have a Leisure Matters CT, and i think its not to bad.

like most things you get what you pay for. We weren't prepared to pay 30K for a tent on wheels.

we got our LM CT for 6k.

since i have added 1 160watt solar, 17L/M water pump, 125ah Gel Battery, Anderson plug for charging on the run, 3000w pure sine wave inverter, plenty of 240/12V outlets.

i wanted to get a trailer that i could do up as my own and know the workings, and it still cost me less than 10K

Cheers

Hi
yep we have one also but its the full gal trailer not the aluminium. Only 1 slight problem with the brakes but that was an easy fix (1 wheelstud on each wheel was not seated properly causing the  magnet to release they paid the mechanics bill to fix it)

we decided to buy it as it looked good and was at a good price. We have added a battery 12v led strip lights and thats all. I don't think you could even compare them to the one mentioned in the "re-engineering a chinese ct".
