I never advocate stirring up trouble, but post away. "I hear you guys couldn't even follow a Paj towing a camper trailer..." no offense to our Paj drivers intended.

Actually now that I've looked at the videos I recognise one of them, I almost had a collision with him as he was going sideways around a corner...

None taken... All done and conquered, while not with the Swag team our Paj did just fine. Even with water up to the Windscreen at Nolans. There are a tone of idiots out there though...

Looks like this guy went through before we did, notice that there is still a tree where the stump was that caused us so much trouble.

In hindsight if that tree was still there when we got there, everyone probably would have taken the line that jk did (would mean we all got winched) but we would have gotten through.

Have a look at the Gunshot photos here - http://offroadwarrior.wordpress.com/2011/06/08/day-8-cockatoo-creek/

What a difference a few weeks make :)

That's hardly surprising if they did Gold Coast to Gold Coast in 14 days - they must have been in one hell of a hurry, personally I dont see the point!

Funny how the video shows a GQ ripping up the ruts further, driving technique displayed in the other vids as well...

They probably threw the ones into Gunshot as well - one of which did a good job of snagging jk's wheel when he went through.

Why do people throw logs into ruts? What are they thinking it will achieve?

Obviously a log will provide traction is a sea of sloop - who knows what they are thinking..There not. They just stop momentum as we found a Troopie that had hit one of the logs on the way up and then couldn't get started so he just made an easy winch out. In fact that was the reason we went to Weipa, to get mine fixed after the Wenlock but it wasn't needed. We made Palm very easy IMO, slow and steady did the job with the locker on. Frostd made it easy as well with the big Patrol and BFG's cruising up. To be fair a tour group had spent 30 mins on the shovels moving sand from the banks into the tracks which helped  a lot.

My other problem with logs is that you often can't see them under mud, so when you drive across the wheel levers one up straight into the underside of your vehicle - who knows what it can hit - radiator, fuel tank, sump, the list goes on.

Now you have to deal with damage caused by some other idiots stupidity.
