  Gday Flem I posted a reply in the our camper trailer thread. The mirrors i ended up with have only 1 arm. What state are you in? We got our Flamingo from Bayswater in Vic. We used thier auto elec.to fit the brake controller. Did a top job. Looked a lot of work. They also fitted the anderson plug to. We fitted a Prodigy P2. This is the mirrors i got..  :cheers: Phil

G'day Phil,
              I saw your other thread thanks mate. I am in Gladstone QLD but ordered my camper through Brissy at the Caravan Camping show. I'll see how hard the controller is to install and may do the same as you, if it's too hard. The Mirrors you picked up look like they will do the job, and a good price to.

I didn't think caravan drivers used mirrors. I know every time i come up behind them and they're doing 80 in a 100 zone they never, ever pull over and let me past???????

I've used these mirrors for the past few months on my vehicles,   got em at supercrap.
On the first tug, the old hilux,  the mirrors were the old small style that adjust by hand, so they struggled to stay put when a semi went past on the hwy (they blew in a bit)  I had to jerry rig a wire support stay when I first used them.
On my new tug (the d-max), the mirrors are better moulded etc, so don't move.
What I did do is turn the extended mirror 90 degrees so I could overlap the extended mirror slightly with the car mirror whilst still having the mirror stick out far enough to see well down the side.  This just gives a bit more rigidity to the whole thing, as they do wobble a bit sometimes.

Although the newies have a different door, the vent is the same, and one I saw at a recent show was exactly the same as mine....
As a follow up this this earlier post, Teabag just had his door replaced under warranty from water damage.  May pay to check yours & look for sealant between the 2 vent panels?

We use one of these on the drivers side only on the Cruiser.

I haven't noticed, had it for about two years now.
I get a bit of vibration out of the factory Cruiser mirror, not the frame just the glass bit.
There are two rubber straps that hold it in place. Tighten the big plastic nut at the back, that stops the wobble a fair bit.

I just ended up with a pair of these at $59 + $20 postage.

Looked up a couple of local stores websites and saw the price to be $89, so I thought I would buy local, went in and they did not have any BUT the price was for each. Also went to a couple of automotive chain stores and they ranged from $89 to $119 EACH.

I would like to do the local thing but at $40 each ebay was used. From what I could see they are exactly the same thing (of course I might have a different opinion when they turn up)

I bought the mirror the same as 'Hairs' from BCF  for my ML Triton but found the way it adjusted didn't suit the tapered shape of the Triton mirror.

Yeah mate I returned them today so it's all good. I will go down to Super-cheap on the weekend and have a look if their's will suit the Triton shape.  :cheers:

I picked up this mirror yesterday and it seems to suit the Triton's tapered shaped mirrors better IMO. Might be handy info for other Triton owners.

Turned up today

Must admit they are pretty good for the price, very solid on the door. The only possible weak spot would be the tension adjuster on the mirror itself, these are only a pressure fitting with 3 small screws. I have known them to rust up, and the rubber insert to perish and then the mirror has to be that tight it cannot be adjusted or it flaps around everywhere..

Anyway they will do fine, will be good to be able to see behind the camper for a change. Bit disconcerting not be able to see vehicles behind until they start to over take.

Hmmm Yeah, Bloody frustrating at times, I can fully understand why truckies get the S%$ts at times.
Traveling(@90kph) between Woodenbong and Kyogle after Easter in the pouring rain, a dark grey dual cab Hilux 2wd was sitting up my bum(without lights on) I didn't know they were there until Navara04 told me over the UHF, then I saw a blinker flash as they pulled out of my spray and they over took on double whites heading into a sharpish 75kmp corner.
Even with the mirrors on, they seem to sit that close that at times I am so tempted jamb my brakes on. I have a huge toolbox and the two spare wheels on the back and some descent bar work.
