Important message for the Cape 2011 participants...
« on: July 07, 2011, 09:57:21 PM »
I now have the ftp server up for all of our pictures and movies.

I am currently uploading all of the pictures (around 15GB) onto the server, so please be patient while that happens.  I will hold off on uploading the video files until I have converted them into avi format so everyone can watch them.

The DVD will be uploaded once I have finished editing it (no pressure on that one!).

Can everyone please send me an email - symon@myswag.org so that I can have your email address.  Once I have that I can email you the logon details (and step by step instructions, just for you jk) for the ftp server.

I would like to have a look as well, it will help me with the 22 days wait before we head off to the cape.

At this stage I'll only give access to participants as there may be some images that people would not like to share in the public domain.  Once these have been filtered out and I have re-sized things (so my server doesn't get hammered) I'll make a public link available.

So sorry guys, please be patient.

Mark or Symon, after 12 month build up to this fantastic trip, and then getting snipets of info during the trip including a few teaser pics, I like most of the other members of Myswag are very keen to read what is bound to be an enthralling report.  At this stage are you able to tell us if the report will be posted on the forum, or will we have to wait for a magazine article or video?

Mark is the man who will be doing up the trip report, so keep the pressure on him :)

Once I have the DVD completed I will upload the vob files for people to download and burn their own DVD's - there won't be a mail out like last time.

OK guys I've just got back from camping at Byfield so I'm able to reply to your emails!

I have set up a folder with low resolution versions of the photos for those of you on slow or capped connections, and I am uploading them now - please be patient.  For some reason only mine and Kirsty's hi res versions made it to the server, so I am re-uploading everyone else's as well.

I've just discovered that a lot of the pictures have been deleted off the server (namely Mykio's, duggies and Tim's).  I'm guessing someone went cut and paste instead of copy and paste when they downloaded the pics.

I'll re-upload them on the weekend, but can everyone be a bit careful when they download!

Hi Symon and fellow Myswaggers,
Firstly I must apologise to you all, I am far better off sticking to using a chainsaw than using a computer. There were no photos on my photo file because I did not know how to download them. I am more than capable in keeping up on dirt roads in my old Nissan GQ than I am in keeping up with how to use a computer. But thanks to jclures I have been able to re size and post/download my photos on the site.

That's GOLD, ;D  ;D  ;D , I'm so glad you didn't put the caption "welder" on my name because that would by an insult to welders the world over. It's yet another fine example of the Myswag Team pulling together to get the job done.  :cup:
