So we're getting ready for the next trip that's MEANT to start in 7 sleeps!
Here's the go so far.
- Found out that the three trailer wheels that are supposed to be for the Navara offset - are. It's the 6 wheels for the car that we were TOLD are the Navara offset that aren't. So of course, it's cheaper to replace 3 than 6, but still $300 odd that we shouldn't have had to spend.
- We always intended to go back to the well body tray and ARB canopy instead of the custom aluminium canopy as we don't need the space as much, and the custom canopy will be easier to sell. However, there were some cracks in the struts bolted to the chassis that turned out to go all the way - so just as well we were going back to the original. A bit of welding work now required on it - one day.
- A couple of weeks of down time because Mr Yoda stuffed his knee, all good now.
- When the sliding drawers were in the custom canopy, we installed them one on top of the other with some modifications. Trouble is, going back to the well body some of the bits we didn't need previously that we do now have been tossed in a fit of spring cleaning. So a new marine ply floor has to be made up.
- Starter battery went the other day - again, better now than out in the boonies. Once the decision was made to get a new battery, it hasn't missed a beat!
- Battery dealer gave us the wrong one - had to go back to get the right one.
- One of the headlights blew last night, fortunately we had a spare when about to go out.
I think we need a holiday.
