i think they are actually closer than you think..

spec wise, you have to compare them to a platinum model. which in the KK has a towball weight of 100-180kgs. looking at all of the crap that goes into them, i can't see how the tare of 1080kgs per the KK site is possible. (unless  of course they remove half of the strength in it?  ;D) - not meant to be cheeky, well apart from that last bit, but i've been wondering about that as well Gronk.. ever had yours on a weigh bridge?

Got a bite 1st throw !! ;D

Tare weight is for the base spec of any model, so whatever the Platinum comes standard, that SHOULD be the weight.. minus gas in the bottles, no water in the tank, cupboards bare...

You won't get any KK with a towball weight of 100KG's, although with the camper empty and the extended drawbar, it may come close ??......180KG's ??....you've got too much crap, jetison some of it !! ;D

But whichever way ( are any of them telling the truth ), an extra 300KG's is a lot of extra weight !!.....have you got a chip in the Prado yet Dan ??  you might need it !! ;D

One question that gets them on the defensive is to ask them can you have your money back if you drive straight to a weighbridge and it comes in heavier than the advertised tare weight !!

haha.. Chip and Exhaust are already being discussed with the other half..

my first trip for mine will be clarencetown, then straight down to the weighbridge once packed, i'm keen to know how heavy she is loaded, with full water on both the ball and generally.

when i know i'll let everyone know.

Dan, best way is to weigh it empty.....that gives you the tare ( and hopefully it is somewhere near the advertised weight ), then at home, just weigh everything you put in...then add the two together.....then you go..bloody hell, lets trim some of the fat! !!!
