One of the activities planned will be a day trip driving the challenging and rugged tracks including the Billy Goat Track in the Bendleby Ranges.
You can read about it some more and watch a video here: http://www.bendlebyranges.com/index.php?id_pag=3
Some info you need to know:
- There will be a limit of 8 vehicles per trip (trips can be done on any of the days so let us know what is your preference)
- You must have a 4wd with Low Range to be able to do this trip
- It is recommended that vehicles have LT (Light Truck construction) tyres and a 2' lift would make life alot easier for you
- The track fee is $50 per vehicle
It is going to be a pretty long day as we have to travel 50km (bitumen) to Orroroo, then another 50km (unsealed) to get to the Homestead where we will 'sign in'. We will be leaving Wilmington at 8am and it is preferred that you have filled up the night before. You will need to bring your chairs and lunch/drinks and we expect to be back at Wilmington around dinner time.
They have a 'Training Track' that we will do first which is a lot of fun and gets you prepared for what's in store later in the day.
We will then make our way over to the Hungry Ranges and drive one of the Flinders Ranges most iconic tracks offering spectacular views, challenging climbs and decents, and culminating in the Billy Goat Track.
The SA MySwag group had it's last meet here and an awesome time was had by all and I can highly recommend this day trip if you are into your 4wdriving.
