What vehicle? I'd try and get an N70 Century Overlander in there unless you want to spend big $$ then get an Optima

I have a Patrol diesel and run a NZ70 and have an equivalent size in the Marine battery in  Century.  8)

If you live around Brisbane or Ipswich areas, then go to the factory at Carole Park and get a seconds from them. ;) I payed $120 for the Marine one!(RRP $225) It had scratches on it.  8)
So long as you have tried your best, you should have no regrets.

In my research I've found Battery World to be a rip off. In my little Grand Vit I fitted a N70-size marine starting battery. Marine batts are designed to be more vibration resistant and tend to be a little more hybrid in design.

I bought mine from Whitworths which was the cheapest I could find on the net.

Century N70Z.

I've had Century batteries in most of my vehicles and found them to be good.  There is a massive range of brands out there, and 9 out of 10 are probably good.

Marine batteries are NOT designed to be more vibration resistant, they are made to go into boats and stand up to the pounding that boats gets when hitting waves, this is not the same as the constant vibration that is found in your 4WD on dirt roads, most manufactures make  4WD batteries that are made to be vibration resistant and have a different lead set from stranded or marine batteries for this reason. good luck with what U chose. When ever I got a new batt its always the biggest that will fit in the space provided in the tug . Costs a bit more but to me worth every cent .

i have friends that have toured the factory that made battery,s in Adelaide. The info they came back with is buy the cheapest battery you can find (lead, acid) because they are all the same just differant lables.

I'll state now I'm not an expert.

My wife has a Subaru legacy GT and sadly got a flat battery about 6 months ago while I was away.

She couldnt contact me so rang RACV.

Paid for the premium battery.
She has MS so doesnt drive around alot and usually only short trips ( school runs etc,  1 - 10km's  )
except for a once a week trip to the osteo (40kms return ) .

This battery is now starting to die,  and the pervious one only lasted 12 months.

Spoke to a mate who is an RACQ roadside mechanic and he reckons that the alternator in her car isnt putting out the correct voltage to charge the calcium batteries that are now being supplied.
He see's this every day and it pisses him off too.

Not a fault of the alternator or the car,  just a bad match of battery type and vehicle charging capability.

A bit off topic,  but i thought it might be worthwhile knowledge anyway.

Cheers,

Dale

Still running the Delkor Baz?

Mate of mine works for battery place, runs them himself and recommends I replace the crap Supercharge with a Delkor M27 I think it was..

I've never heard of Delkor
That is all

Thanks.
