My "copy" - all $20 of it off #bay, is very convincing. All the packaging, instructions etc look authentic, and torch seems rock solid. Sensational performance too, so I'll take my chances on this one.

Even the belt sheath etc all seemed legit, ditto the 4xAAA lenser alkalines included.

Not a fan of fakes, but if I'm just buying a service-free boxed object then frankly i don't care who I buy from. Don't care if a bunch of pass-the-box middle men don't get their cut.... 8)

Cheers,

Got my ebay P7 today and it certainly is a quality knockoff if it is one.  LED is high tech and it just about blinded me.  Has the concave lense with convex centre just like the real deal and batteries look authentic along with literature.

Only give away that it is not authentic is the lack of a warranty document and the LED Lenser P7 writing is only on one side of the torch and it is also laser painted or screened on and not laser engraved.  Can someone with a real one tell me if the insignia is on both sides and is it paited on or laser engraved/etched?

This is a pic of my genuine (not from eBay) P3

It is on 1 side only and is not etched or engraved.

Well the only thing that may tell it as being a copy is the lack of a warranty form or description.  For $29 or whatever it was I am happy to be able to spot possums and other nightlife :cup:.

According to the Lenser site the little number is a unique serial number.  My Hong Kong Ebay P7 even has the unique umber as well 234211

If you just need a torch to have for camping or in the car you dont need a surefire, theyre just to dear.

An average ebay p7 or the like will be fine

Cheers Chris

I have a P14 Torch and H7 Head Lamp both by Led Lenser and cannot be happier. The P14 is almost as good as a spot light but can also be a good flood light. Blows my maglight with Led bulb out of the water for performance......Highly recommended......

I have pelican Sabre lights X2 and have had them to 37m under water. I use them as dive torches and they burn the eyes out of crayfish at 20 paces.
They are also safe in explosive areas. The batteries last well (3xC) and you can give a wombat a touch up to get it away from your food box if needed.I also use the 2xAAA version at work for inspections.

We get issued these at work and honestly, not a patch on the p14. Wouldn't even put it in the same state.......

Well my three P7's arrived today ;D, look good-

Nicely boxed.

Looks the goods

All in all it looks great, feels solid and am very happy with it. Will try and get some night shots with it compared to a dolphin torch.

Looks the same as mine, is the serial number unique to the one I posted?  Don't bother comparing it to your dolphin, the dolphin can not even be called a torch compared to these.  I can light up the top of palm trees two blocks away from me all the blocks around me are 1/2 acre.  I can't wait to use it to spotlight some possums with my daughter down at Nanga.

Just checked serial number, differant to yours. Just wanted to post up the differance in the two lights, so not really comparing.

Same here, My 2 x P7 torches arrived today and was comparing with my other P7 i bought a while back for over 100 bucks which is grey in colour and the only difference i can see between the black models i recieved and my grey unit is the button at the back of the grey unit is not rubber...its a metallic or hard smooth button instead of the rubber type on the black models but everything else is spot on so in summary i woudl defianatley say the torches are the real deal...i will take some photos and post them just to show you the comparison...otherwise i am happy i bought them and sad i got ripped by my local army surplus............

enjoy

I've just ordered a P14 from E-Bay for half the price of the P6 I bought here 12 Months ago.

I'll let you know how it compares to the original.

My e-bay P7 arrived during the week. Don't know if it is an original or Chinese copy, but very happy with it. I will order another one now and may also look at a couple of H7's.

Had a sales rep. come into work the other day and commented about the Led Lenser box on my bench. Showed him the light(as they sell them) and he said it looked and felt identical to the genuine ones they sell.
