No rush, the outdoor store guy in Singapore I bought from has hundreds listed.  Set a limit and bid to it so we don't all bid against one another  :-[  It seems if you want one from an Australian seller yopu will pay around $6-10 more.

I wish I hadn't of seen these LED Lensers. My next random purchase.

So you've thought about it?
Hardly random then...

"But darling, it was on special, and we DO need new torches" ;D

Perhaps a lift kit might be my next random purchase...
I got a sweater for Xmas, really wanted a moaner or screamer.

Hi Guys,

I bought a P6 for $69 on the way to the Cape last year when the dolphin gave up, great torch, just dirty about the price.

Looks like I'll have to buy the wife the X21 version now.

Can't beat the old Maglite however for a smaller option I have had a Surefire 6P Original for 7 years and has always worked well. I also have a Pelican Sabrelight which hangs off a certain coat. They also do well, especially because it was free...

I have a 4 d cell maglite that I have had for around 20 years.  Would love to get an led conversion lese for it.  Does anyone know if they make them?  I had a search but could not find anything.  I think a retrofit lense for old maglites would sell well.

After reading this thread, I had to get a P7, I ordered it off ebay 2 days ago and it arrived today from Hong Kong for $32 landed.  I don't know if it is a knock off or not but it feels pretty tough and what a beam it has.  I can spot possums in trees from 50 metres.  Great little torch and a cheap investment.  The kids now get the maglite and mother can have the Dolphin.

Have a look at the warning about copies on the led lenser web site.

The copies on ebay are most definitely cheap knock offs.  If they work and they keep working then great buy.  My torches get a very hard life on everything from 4WDing, to bushwalking, to mounted on firearms, to war zones, to flying, to dirt bike riding.  About 12 years ago I found Surefire torches and now have 9 of them.  Great torch and you simply can't kill them.  They are designed to a standard though and not a price so you do pay for what you get.

www.surefire.com.

They will not deliver to Australia.  You need to go through one of those companies that gives you a US address to ship to then forward to you, or buy them here in Australia.

I recently bought a little LED torch from a camping store for about $20 that is the size of a car cigarette lighter, you put into the lighter socket to recharge. I could not believe how powerful a light it gave. It had a number of accessories including a clip to use as a head lamp.

Obviously not for everyone but a great little light to use in the car or camper trailer. very good solid beam.

We use these

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/trustfire-s-a2-cree-xpc-wc-q5-3-mode-230-lumen-led-flashlight-1-aa-1-14500-36358

fantastic little torch,  uses either a single AA or a 14500 3.7v rechargable.

I run the rechargables

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/trustfire-protected-14500-3-7v-900mah-rechargeable-lithium-batteries-2-pack-26124

and have this charger

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/ultrafire-3-6-3-7v-battery-charger-1251

For less than $45 you can get two torches,  2 batteries and a charger.

The charger charges off 240 or 12v as well although i had to make up a 12v lead.

I'm yet to see anything less than $100 beat it for brightness.

Quality of the torch is great.

Most of my mates have also gone out and bought these little babies.
We have 4 of them now,  one in my car,  two in the camper and one in the kitchen drawer for if the power goes out.

Best of all they post for free,  delivery is somewhere between 2 and 4 weeks.

Cheers

Dale

Well, after lots of thought ???, i have just purchased three P7's off ebay. Now I know they will most likely be copies but my plan is simple. Test them, if  ilike them I will replace them with genuine P7's when/if they fail. The three cost $117 posted so comes in a bit cheaper then around $300 for the REAL thing.
BTW, the original link I posted regarding these lights on ebay, well I sent the seller an email asking they were the genuine thing or were they copies, his reply- if you dont trust me, go some where else and buy it, just look at my feed back. Skirted around the question with out answering it......maybe a future for him in politics.
