Howdy
« on: March 04, 2011, 07:51:55 PM »
Hey everybody. We're soon (next week) taking ownership of our CT. We were convinced after borrowing a friend's and traveling to Lake Eyre, Birdsville and places in between via the Flinders Ranges. Previously spent many nights over the years under canvas in a range of tents but this CT thing is great. Can't quite come at a van.

I've delved into this forum a number of times and read with interest the different tips and tricks but more interestingly the trips after all that's what its about. Now that we have the CT in our reach we're keen to get out and about and whilst we can manage with our own company sharing is so much better. We have a August-ish trip planned to Alice via Oodnadatta and Finke then to Karratha across the desert. Before then though keen to get to some easy to reach places from the Canberra area so open to suggestions and maybe with some like minded MySwag members.

Our set up comprises a 120 series Prado with stuff added and can hold its own with full-size Cruisers and Patrols in the high country and soon to be towing an Australian Off Road Odyssey. We're driving to QLD to collect it and then a leisurely drive home setting up a few times on the way over 4 days or so.

Thanks for the forum and the wealth of advice and shared knowledge.
