Reading pillow
« on: February 07, 2011, 06:47:47 AM »
I love reading in bed at night when away camping, does anyone have any suggestions on a backrest (pillow?) that would allow me to sit up in bed and read. My hubby reckons you guys would certainly know which one is the best.

I just bought two of these - haven't got them yet but they look the goods ...

Not sure exactly how they will work with the towel part in a bed but under a sleeping bag should be OK for us ...

Cheers

I usually do all my reading ( the back of the eyelids !! ) in a lying down comatose type position  ;D ;D

Reading in bed is actually very bad for your back.....but then again, drinking's supposed to be bad for you as well ???      ??? ???

You can buy a folding mesh type backrest from the chemist. Made for invalids and supposed to be very comfortable. also folds flat.

My sister purchased a similar thing from the Gold Coast.  Big difference being that her's is foam covered with material, and the "towel" part is also foam covered with material.  It's in a triangular shape.  The bed part is designed to roll over the pillow part to store it (has a backpack style clasp sewn into it ... whatever they are called).  If you want a larger pillow, don't unroll it so far.  They are very comfortable and cost about the same as these blow up versions.

My husband said that if I needed any information all I had to do was ask on myswag, once again he's right.  Thank you everyone for your help.
