New member from Sydney
« on: January 27, 2011, 07:32:11 AM »
I've joined the forum as I've decided to upgrade from the tent.  Been camping for a few years with a box trailer and a touring tent and now that we're a family of 4, I need to get into something a little bigger, particularly for keeping ourselves sane in wet weather and away from the mossies.  Anyway, I'm keeping an eye out for a second hand on road camper, something along the lines of a Camel, Customline, Cavalier or similar.  Let me know if you know of someone looking to sell one - don't mind going interstate for it!

G'day garbage and welcome to Myswag. You've come to the right place for all things camper trailer. As you should have already noticed, you won't get any errrubbish, err garbage, trashy feedback here. ;D ;D

Welcome to the site, should be interesting to see if you get as many responses as another recently joined member, but then again they already had a CT so there wasn't really that much we could say....

G'day & Welcome.

If you're up for it, there is a myswag get-together near Sydney at Burralow Swamp next weekend, tents welcome if you don't have a camper, or even just come and have a yarn.

I don't see many on-road campers for sale, though a friend of mine on the northern beaches has a Cameron Canvas camper he is thinking of selling. It is a compact unit. Send me a PM and I'll give you his number if you're interested.

TJ

I can buy today and will if there's a good deal, but don't actually need something till April.  Budget is around $5.5k and I only need an onroad camper.

Thanks, just sent a PM.

Not sure how I'd go fitting all my camping gear into the car as I've just sold my trailer to another person on this board.  Haven't heard of Burralow Swamp before.  Is it 2WD accessible and what are facilities like?

Hi Garbage,

That counts me out, sorry.  I will have one for sale in April/May but it will be over $10K.

Good luck with your search.

Alright, I've landed myself a 2 year old Bell Canvas onroad camper.  Looking forward to take it for a weekend test run in a couple of weeks!

Sounds like a great trailer, but I'm afraid it was only just too late.  I picked up a trailer last night.  Thanks for letting me know though :)

Welcome to the forum garbage and congrats on the ct purchase.  How exciting!
We are expecting ours at the end of the month and can't wait.  Have been tent campers for decades - once upon a time with 2 kids, but now just the two of us.
Enjoy your adventures with it.
Cheers   :D
