HI Navara04 Just wondering how the camping ground at Sandon River holds up during all this flooding.Gees I would have thought the road to Brooms Head would be cut there,s a bit of low stuff along there.TINKERA.

Tinkera
the road to Brooms Head is never cut from the floodwaters at Maclean( water will cross the road 1/2 way  out to brooms head due to local flooding only, and it usually only lasts for an hour or so) the road out to sandon river is fine,no problems getting out there.absolutly no dramas with the camp ground out at sandon either, cheers.

Yep, Nav seems to be on the ball. The H'way South to Coffs is open to all traffic, & as far as I know the Summerland Way to Casino & Lismore is also open. There has been a heap of traffic diverted through Grafton. The line up of trucks streched from the top of Junction Hill out to just short of the Mountain Veiw turnoff.I heard the Southern approach to Grafton was worse.

I drove yamba to ballina today and all good. I was told by traffic control I could get to grafton via maclean, mcfarlane bridge and brushy. I cant post the photo from iPhone but there is a good 1m of water over the hwy just south of the harwood bridge. highway is closed southbound at the bruxner turn off to keep trucks off the local detours. flemo

tink,

Next month could be a problem... you see, sometimes our floods come in pairs [about a month apart]

Keep an eye out for any cyclones coming down the east coast.

It was put over the local radio about 3:30pm today that the Pacific Hway was open to light traffic  ( no trucks ) from Grafton to Ballina. May be of some use to swaggers trying to travel.

Might reduce the number of vehicles using the Grafton Bridge.

How long did it take you to get home Bevan? A carton was looking good at 5:30
