Was at the big bash last night to see 445 runs scored. Although I am sure it was spectacular to watch, it was a very disappointing game to watch as a Renegades fan.
Here we go again
Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim has been cleared of serious injury after being struck a sickening blow on the helmet during a Test match against New Zealand at the Basin Reserve in Wellington. In distressing scenes on day five of the first Test, Mushfiqur was hit on the back of the helmet after he ducked into a Tim Southee bouncer and fell to the pitch around 12.10pm (NZ time). He began to kneel, then collapsed to the ground and was immediately attended by medical staff from both teams. He still appeared to be conscious and advertising hoardings were shifted to allow an ambulance to drive onto the field.http://www.smh.com.au/sport/cricket/bangladesh-captain-mushfiqur-rahim-felled-by-tim-southee-bouncer-taken-to-hospital-20170115-gts1sb.html
I wonder where to from here for the good ol' bouncer
How bad did the lump on Peter Neville's face look the other night after copping the bat handle to the face. Poor bloke.
If we can't ban the bat at least make em use "NERF" bats and balls.
Indian cricketer Mohit Ahlawat belts T20 triple ton The most devastating Twenty20 innings in history has been plundered by an Indian domestic cricketer, who blasted an unbeaten triple century just two weeks out from this month's lucrative IPL player auction.Mohit Ahlawat, 21, hammered five consecutive sixes in the final over of his astonishing knock of 300 from 72 balls while playing for Maavi in Delhi."I saw the scoreboard, and I was nearing my 200 with five overs to go, so I decided to go for the kill."I reached 250 with just two overs to go, I told my partner, 'let me try if I can make 300', and I got 30 off the last over."
an unfortunate side-effect when you are picked before being ready (some handle it, some don't):http://www.foxsports.com.au/cricket/australia/nic-maddinsons-indefinite-absence-from-cricket-extended-due-to-personal-reasons/news-story/2df2e30ded36aea89741a1c3089a0b26hope it works out for him. didn't like his selection, but hope he gets his head right...
I think in the last 15 yrs the pressure put on young sports people in most sports businesses is way over the top... expectations to instantly be the next Bradman, Abblett snr, Beetson etc is unjustified... the media should wear most of the blame with their lust for a headline or "comment" piece.. Apparently there are 549 'licensed' reporters with the AFL alone... how do they all run 1 genuine article each per day/week?
the bit I find most amusing is that in India's quest to doctor the wicket they went too far and it worked to our advantage.
just one wicket to go now, might roll them for less than their first innings.
Just like diveball
