Can someone please explain to me why the ABC have a female pom commentating on a test match between Australia and Pakistan?
I know Jim Maxwell has been ill but surely we're not that devoid of cricketing talent that we cant find some decent commentators.
Ruining my day at work.

Not sure if it was her or a different lady on Triple M, Ash? I think they called her, but I would rather listen to her then then Micheal Clarke

Just chucked the cricket on for a minute while waiting for a test pattern to come on another channel, and the size of the crowd is amazing!

Must nearly be into triple figures!

I'll give it to the commentators, waffling on sounding positive with different strategies for Australia to somehow win this dead test, but really Australia is just happy to bat out a draw.  If Australia was serious about winning, Smith should have backed his team and declared at end of Day 3 or very early Day 4 and pile the pressure on Pakistan to make a game of it.  Just my thoughts.

Great finish :cup:

The question now is, choked or chucked... Considering they do have a convicted spot fixer in the team...

What about all those naysayers from a few months ago  who declared  Test cricket is dead and five days is too long ...

We have seen some results this summer, both here and in the India v England series, that would not have been achieved in a four day game.

Ok, I am a dinosaur and I love the tradition of Test cricket but  they don't  call it a Test for nothing.

And I reckon I know what the players think. Does anybody remember who won the IPL or BBL last year? People will remember this Test match

I love test cricket but we have to go back to playing on less perfect pitches. The batting is becoming boring
Here for a good time, not a long time!

Great finish :cup:

A match of different innings.  A complete form reversal of both Pakistan batting and Australian bowling, our bowlers (for this innings) found the stumps instead of bowling everywhere else.

Agree. The 2 best tests were under lights where the ball was actually doing something. Probably don't need to go to the extreme at Hobart, but much more interesting watching.

That was an awesome hit, but so were many of his! Highlight reel on his own!

Finally got a reasonably balanced team and some form. It would have been interesting if we played Pakistan first and then Sth Africa...

Especially now Kyle Abbott can't play for South Africa now!

Bit sad there is no more test cricket this summer  :'(

I'd think they'd keep Lynn for the middle order. Warner and Khawaja as openers.

Was at the big bash last night to see 445 runs scored. Although I am sure it was spectacular to watch, it was a very disappointing game to watch as a Renegades fan.

And since when can McDermotts bat... Certainly his old man couldn't.

Oh well, ODI at the G on Sunday to look forward to now.
