Pretty dismal effort by the boys. Marsh was unlucky, umpire must have had some money on the game. No appeal or indication of a review by the NZ team and the ump reviews it anyway. Not in the spirit of the game.

No real surprise with the result since Australia can't play overseas again. Though has got me trying to think when the last time the sheep shaggers played the odi competition in Australia??

I agree he was out, but it's interesting to see the supposed "gentleman of the sport  " McCallum turn into a desperate do anything to win captain when his arse was on the line!   Word "Hypocrite" comes to mind.

The umps probably just evened the score with the Nathan Lyon decision from Adelaide.

Wonder will this finally move the focus from when Ross Taylor ran off the ground and wouldn't let any of the players shake his hand in Perth??  >:D

Problem is if the sheep shaggers get a bowl on this pitch today there could be 20 wickets fall on the first day of the test....

2/11 in reply to 183, could be an innings defeat on the cards....  :'(

Must be the exact opposite to the WACA pitch. Think anyone who gets over 10 should get a hand shake from the opposition!!

Breathing a bit easier now. Clearly these guys have more confidence in the whites as 2/not many in yellows would have been all out for not much more.

A little way to go yet. Hussey averaged 80 for a couple of years before returning to the domain of mere mortals. 1 season does not make a man. There have been plenty of players who have had golden patches .
The key is consistency over an extended time against all attacks under all conditions.
...but voges certainly has started well, full credit to him.
But what a joke the whole review system is - umps call for replays all the time, surely howlers like the not out on voges is the whole reason we have replays??

Just read this...

In that time, courtesy of successive innings that have yielded 269no (in Hobart), 106no (at the MCG) and today’s 176no, Voges' Test average has swollen to 100.33 which, in his 14th Test match, is even better than fellow Western Australian late bloomer Mike Hussey’s at the same juncture. Even better than a certain Don Bradman, who after 14 Tests averaged a mere 94.45.

Wonder what the right thing to do now will be. He was out for 7 and now over 200 so do the Kiwi's shake his hand?
