Interesting perspective from Stu, who has actually played at test level...
Former Aussie quick Stuart Clarke says fellow fast-bowler Dirk Nannes should apologise to Steve Smith and the Australian cricket team.
Nannes yesterday accused the Aussies of “horrendous sportsmanship” for failing to shake hands and congratulate Kiwi Ross Taylor for his record-breaking 290-run innings on day four.
However, Clark believes the Australians would have congratulated Taylor after the day’s play or before the start of play on day five, rather than immediately after New Zealand’s innings.
He said Nannes was completely out of line.
“I think Dirk’s gone too far and potentially should apologise,” Clark told Sky Sports Radio.
“I don’t think that’s correct at all.
“Dirk’s never played Test cricket so it’s a big statement to make. He’s obviously watching from afar and making a comment from what he’s seeing.
“I tell you what, if he wants to ruffle some feathers and get some guys off-side I’d suggest this is the right way to do it because I think the Australians would be filthy on a comment like that.
“I think his comments are a big deal because they are incorrect.”
