Water tank hoses
« on: January 05, 2011, 06:06:11 PM »
Hi Guys,

Down at Jervis Bay at the moment in the ct and noticed the hoses from the filler to the tank and pump
are not clear anymore they are a bit cloudy looking and the water tastes like crap this is our second trip
with the camper lucky we have mains water but the missus likes to use the tap on the sink.

Any thoughts  ???

Cheers James

Our hoses are over 3 years old and are still clear and no taste in the water, are any of yours exposed to sunlight?  The hose isn't expensive so if it is a problem I would replace it and any that are exposed to sunlight, see if you can re route them or cover them.

CAMEC sell black hose, which is what I have used. Mould won't grown in dark places like the inside of a dark hose. Ours has been setup for just over a year now and the water tastes nearly good as the first beer after setting up camp.

Looks like a trip to camec when we get home they are only down the road.

Where the ct is at the campsit the hoses are getting the arvo sun so I would say that's where they went wrong.

Thanks for your help guys

The white hose with the ?? 2 blue pin strips is the hose that is also rated for human consumption water......got a 12 metre length at bunnings few months ago for $20 for filling the camper........works great no garden hose taste to the tanks water.
