FRIDGE QUESTION Evakool 60 lt fridge with thermostat
« on: December 18, 2010, 12:16:09 PM »
Hi all . i bought a Evakool 60 fridge freezer with digital thermostat
Ive had it turned on for 2 days  in the house ambient temp is 20c and I have the freezer set
on -13 with a fridge reading of 5/ 6 c. Just wondering is it normal for
the compresser and fan to turn on every 4 minutes for about 3 minutes seems alot?
considering the ambient temp is 20c and haven,t been opening the fridge.

Has anybody had any experience with the Evakool fridges or other types ,wondering what is
timing usually when the compresser kicks in , how often ?

Happy to hear feed back

is the fridge empty or do you have some drinks in it? as you need to keep something cold for a fridge to work properly.

What George said (G'day George - i should ring and say g'day huh?  ;D) They work better with some stuff in em. Throw in a few 2ltr bottles of drink in and see how it goes then.

I have an older Evakool 60 and yes they do cycle but not usually that regularly. It is also not as good on power as my Engel.

Even better - fill it with beer for next weekend. That will give you an better idea of how it cools beer:)

Yeah I,ve got a few bags of frozen meat in the freezer and 4 bottles 2 lt drinks. The compresser kicks in
nearly every 4mins and goes on for about 3 minutes . Its pretty loud too don't know how I'm gonna
sleep when we go camping.

Chuck in something to be frozen , a wet towel of a bucket of water anything . Or as Ziggy said fill it with cans clill them to Vcold then call ME . I could come & consult as to the correct unstacking  of a fridge full of beer . What to do with unwanted unrulie & uncooth visiters  ( I have some experance in this feild )
