Mate I'm a Cronk fan but he's becoming predictable, as for Inglis i reckon he's the most over rated rep player getting around (besides j.hayne) . Reckon I'm yet to see him really dominate a SOO like he can in club.
Qld's downfall will be they continue to pick players out of club position. eg thurston is best at club halfback & failed at 5/8th yet is forced into that position because cronk cant play standoff. Same with Ingliss & Boyd for fullback. Their out of position from club games & where do they play most of their footy??
This i believe will ultimately be Qld downfall.
My prediction is Qld will win this year but lose the next 2 years & one Paul Green will the next Qld coach in 2018
'predictable' is what you want from one of your halves.... to keep the ship steady.... good kicking game, field position, sets out of your own half...
then you let the other half (JT, in this case) do his 'unpredictable' stuff...
cronk is the master of game management. you need that to win games. that's what hodkinson gave the blues last year.
i'll take boyd on the wing for origin any day of the week. and so does mal, by the looks, considering he only played two games before origin 1.
i'll give inglis the benefit of the doubt and see how he responds in game 2... you don't get to be the equal leading try scorer (along with boyd) for nothing...
the trouble with inglis is that he doesn't impose himself on the game all the time.
slater runs rings around inglis at fullback. inglis is good for one or two good things a game. slater is in the game, in both defence and attack, the whole game.
mal has signed on for another three years, so it might be 2019... and i would doubt that qld will go for a coach that is currently with an nrl side... unless green gets sacked by then, which might happen if the cows don't produce a premiership in the next couple of years.
