Heard Gus ripped his headphones off and stormed out of the commentry box two minutes before full time.  Apparantly the best dummy spit in history.  Bahahahahahahaha

Would have been a lot better if he did 2 minutes before kick off!!! He just gets on my nerves with his negative commentary all the time. Yes NSW played like a dogs breakfast in the second half, but to only have 1 try scored against them during that time, I think is a great achievement. We should have lost by 12-18 points at least.

as a die hard Qld'er, this is a concern to me for game 2....Qld had bucket loads of ball in the second half of the game and didn't look to have much in the way of attack, NSW's defence had plenty of answers for whatever Qld threw at them. Poor options by the halves cost NSW the game, they had ample opportunity to take the field goal, several times in one set of 6 they could have had a shot, but decided to go wide instead. Qld got down the other end and took the shot as soon as they had the chance and won the game on that one decision. Johns post game interview to Pearce summed it nicely...."what did you learn from that?" he asked him...pretty much saying how stupid were you lot to not have a crack at a field goal, and be in the lead with not long left to play in the game.

I think NSW crumbled under pressure and fatigue before Dugans kick. They had the chance to set up for a field goal and they were still fumbling to get into position. There was also no direction or leadership. Next tackle the position was almost there but the pressure was already on them by QLD. Following tackle position was hopeless, leadership and direction was asleep and Dugan Shit bricks so he kicked.

Qld made the decision, they took position and executed the play BEFORE the pressure could be placed on the kicker. Both teams were fatigued, but leadership and experience came through.

Next game is almost as good as a home game anyway  ;D

also, blame robbie farah for passing to the wrong bloke... maybe got the tattoos mixed up between dugan and hodkinson... :)

cronk is the key for QLD...  no coincidence that QLD fumbled and bumbled after he broke his arm in last year's series...

QLD can survive off games from JT, GI, etc... but not from cronk...

look for inglis to try and dominate game 2... very average in game 1... probably shouldn't have played due to ill health and poor preparation...

boyd will be better with a few more games under his belt also...

all is not well in cockroach land... :)

about time farah was pinged for being overrated...

Looks like a typical story from the Courier Mail by a Qld Journalist, it ain't really that bad down here, always makes me laugh reading that crap paper as there seems to be only 1 team in the NRL that being the broncos with not much attention to any other teams except for they have maroon players. Most of Sydney are back to the other major weekend sport down here, The weekend Auction sales and how much extra $ over the odds they can pick up and did they crack $xmillion.

It goes both ways..... i saw on the telly yesterday morning the Sydney media having a big whinge about dirty play by the Qlder's during the game, someone hand them a tissue for crying out loud.
There's some fair points raised in that article i reckon...NSW certainly lacked leadership during the game, Gallen was missed big time. Fafita did not much at all, i reckon he's stacked on the kilos big time since leaving Wests a few years ago. When he left the team i thought they were stupid for letting him go, but i wouldn't have him back there now if i was running the club.
Game 2 will be very different for NSW, i can't imagine they will make the same bad decisions twice. All they have to do is hold onto the ball a touch better (both teams had their fair share of dropped ball though), keep up the same defensive effort, and then make smarter decisions during the pressure periods of the game, then they'll be a real chance of winning .

Mate I'm  a Cronk fan but he's becoming predictable, as for Inglis i reckon he's the most over rated rep player getting around (besides j.hayne) .  Reckon I'm yet to see him really dominate a SOO  like he can in club.
Qld's downfall will be they continue to pick players out of club position.  eg thurston is best at club halfback & failed at 5/8th yet is forced into that position because cronk cant play standoff. Same with Ingliss & Boyd for fullback. Their out of position from club games & where do they play most of their footy?????
This i believe will ultimately be Qld downfall.
My prediction is Qld will win this year but lose the next 2 years & one Paul Green will the next Qld coach in 2018

'predictable' is what you want from one of your halves.... to keep the ship steady....  good kicking game, field position, sets out of your own half...

then you let the other half (JT, in this case) do his 'unpredictable' stuff...

cronk is the master of game management.  you need that to win games.  that's what hodkinson gave the blues last year.

i'll take boyd on the wing for origin any day of the week.  and so does mal, by the looks, considering he only played two games before origin 1.

i'll give inglis the benefit of the doubt and see how he responds in game 2... you don't get to be the equal leading try scorer (along with boyd) for nothing...

the trouble with inglis is that he doesn't impose himself on the game all the time.

slater runs rings around inglis at fullback.  inglis is good for one or two good things a game.  slater is in the game, in both defence and attack, the whole game.

mal has signed on for another three years, so it might be 2019... and i would doubt that qld will go for a coach that is currently with an nrl side... unless green gets sacked by then, which might happen if the cows don't produce a premiership in the next couple of years.

.... "don't mention de War" was a quote I was thinking would have no place in m.swagrz. Good to see "Aussie Aussie Aussie.. 0i 0i 0i" holds true.
FTR... for us FNQers it all started with that "Brisbane  Line" being built. Been on our own up until Kennet broke Victoria an' subsequently the migration started. Now we have airconditoning
and bigger electricity bills... but as a tradeoff I reckon the roads have
improved stupendously!
