We all buy things that we think we need , going to be useful, just what I have been looking for, that's handy etc but in the end has been a waste of money and either never used or used rarely.

I havnt worn a watch since 2002..
so much better. watches are old fashioned, there is time everywhere now, car house, computer, and ya phone, even acurate and self adjusting time on the TV..

Yes we did expect that one didn't we?
Good to see "SWMBO"has a sense of humour.............
You're still alive aren't you?
Aren't you...............................
-
Expensive coffee machine, it was great until the novelty wore off then it was all to hard.
Fly mesh walls for the 4wd awning.
Kids cheap stretcher beds for camping.
Any camping gear that requires effort to put together, such as large pantries or shower tents that need all the poles etc.
Exhaust jack.

But are you worth it really :cup:

Hmm,
Aqua Cube hot water - used once, stored for 18 months then dead as a dodo.
Those mesh toaster thingos
Table (was replaced with a Drifta table which was way better)
Half the stuff in the kitchen drawers which we have hardly used
Electric blanket (SWMBO would violently disagree with this)
That's all for now, I'm sure to think of more.
-

That reminds me we have a thread like this one I think but what's wrong with the mesh toaster?
We have two and love them. :) Those upright, 4 bread toasters are another thing that was a waste of money though.

Yeah I love my 2 mesh toasters

12 volt coleman jug.

8k on a G lobal I mport C ompany camper trailer.
Tigerz11 winch.
Pretty much anything EMG market.
-
12 volt coleman jug.
I can see that. :D
-
Vacuum sealer from home show. Demo looked so impressive, even bought the extra bags. Everything is still brand new in the box. It has only been 3 years though ???
-
12 volt coleman jug.
yeh 12v jug also.... bin!
-
:'(. Me too. 12 volt jug.
-
Hmmmmm............bought a ford once.......... ;D ;D ;D :-*
-
12V soldering iron - Even struggles to melt plastic when I drop it on stuff (maybe a good thing??) .
Give me butane anyday ;D
-
Fridge stand. $30 for once used gadget. Could almost have bought a carton for that, and should have. The only place the stand is useful is on hard level ground, and how often is that a reality when camping?
-

My 25W 240V soldering iron works well via an inverter.
-
Two items:
1. A second hand Thrane & Thrane Sat phone from Gumtree. $100 and it doesn't work and the system does not have affordable satellite packages anyway.
2. Repacking the battery pack for the Thrane & Thrane with new NiCads, thinking that was why it didn't work; $99.
-
fishing rods
-
exhaust jack - never got enough room for it so always seems to be left behind
-
Nothing I have ever bought was a waste of money, SWMBO on the other hand.... well I'm not going into that!!!
-

I must admit I haven't tried that. I don't use my inverter much so forget it is packed. Occasional laptop charging is about all. Thanks, I'll give it a go.:D

wow so many ppl bought similar useless things like me, vacuum sealer at 4wd show, 12 v jug (15 years old now, still only used once), 12v soldering iron, exhaust jack.. etc etc..
we all need to think twice or more before we buy stuff, especially unplanned stuff at shows.

1. Fly fishing rod and gear - why any fish would bite at a bunch of feathers with a hook in it beats me.
2. Geo tracker - the thing was supposed to track where I was going. When it worked, it was accurate to only about 10m.
3. Second hand film camera - tried to rekindle the good old days of film - waste of time.
4. Tripod off fleeBay - learnt a lesson, if you don't buy the best tripod, you will eventually.
5. Mini TJM air compressor - useless for 4 off-road tyres.
6. Cheap SCA grease gun - though it would be good enough but I was wrong.
7. Cheap coffee grinder - learnt that the grinder is the most important part of making good coffee.
-
Too much to list on here :-[.
-
Most of what has been put up I can see yes waste of money. But vacuum sealer? They are great, we use ours all the time.

Staun tyre deflator. Too inaccurate. Since got ARB Ezydeflator - much better, accurate, faster (just be sure to properly reseat the valve core - they can fire off a long way and then you've got the fastest deflation possible!).
ROFL on the wedding ring posts etc ;p
-

Been here done that! Now carry spare valve cores!!

Cheap air compressor it was a beer per tyre job......hand on with the camper on that is a 6 pack maybe i should get rid of the ARB one and go back to the cheapie
-
exhaust jack - never got enough room for it so always seems to be left behind
:cup: I've had one of them for 13 years. Carried it all over the country. It's never ever been inflated

a pedometer

I think what is being referred to here is the camping system that uses reusable plastic bags with a special valve for the hand pump to draw the air out - just like the one we have sitting in a drawer somewhere.
A proper vacuum sealer is a totally different thing altogether.
-
a pedometer
I've been thinking of getting one to see how far i go in a day mowing.
Does it work ok?
Would you be interested in swapping a useless/magnificent waeco 12 volt jug for it.
The jug works perfect too, only 9 and half hours and you have a luke warm cuppa and a flat battery.
-
Hmmmmm............bought a ford once.......... ;D ;D ;D :-*
;D
Probably as big a waste of money as my pootroll

A little confused. Is it used for food?
Looks like I having been living under a rock. I want one now. Even if they are useless. Everyone else seems to have one.

many many many things :(
worse was a Kia sportage, as we didnt have money for Vitara.
From auto hubs never work, kept blowing rear windscreen fuse but power windows and air con would also stop.
Randomly would not start, issue with wiring to starter motor.
Paid $7500 (including a $3000 trade in on wifes excel)
another $1000 on 40mm springs, spot lights
Was only on road for 6 months of the 12 we owned it for due to consistant issues, sold it for $2200.
:(
still trying to catch up after having to take loan out on a new family car and getting ripped off with heaps of extras, unwanted except for extented warranty tha saved us some coin..

None that I can remember, however I do know of several people chosen by her to "road test" the doctor's work! I should thank them, I have moved on to a much better life!
-
Double Bed size camping stretcher. Most uncomfortable unit I've ever bought, plus isn't a holiday made for getting away from all the usual things you do every other day? Single Stretchers all the way....
-
Light Beer , like kissing your sister . Might be fun but it dosent get you anywhere >:D
Full Strength or don't bother

I got the power lead bag and reckon it's worse: the lead is plugged in at home, it gets chucked in the front boot and then immediately pulled out and plugged in if we're camping with 240v and don't take it if we are on 12v only, what a waste of time. And it's too small to use for much else, a complete wa#k in my book and stupid me bought it.
At least I use my hose bag.

our vacuum sealer gets a lot of work, we buy bulk lamb loin chops and vacpac and freeze em in slabs of 8.
never bought a 12v kettle which seems to be the next most popular lemon.

We purchased a 2011 Jayco Hawk OB and really thought it would suit our family.
I invested a heap of time modding it to make it more suitable for a bit of offroad use.
After only a few outings, we soon realised this camper was definitely not for us.
I am not bagging out Jayco, a lot of people love them to bits.
But for us...... It definitely was a big waste of time and money :'(

Treadmill!! :-[

l think it funny when you see exercise equipment at a garage sale or on the hard waste collection :cup:
-
I paid $200.00 once for an hour with a high class hooker. Did my thing (It was fantastic >:D) and then had to talk about the weather to use up the other 57 minutes.

You dont understand. It's not the service that your paying for..
Your paying for them to leave afterwards.

R51 Nissan Pathfinder.

It's interesting to see that often the common denominator is cheap! I've been bitten a few times by buying cheap gear thinking it was a good deal, but so often it comes back to bite you. As they say, a poor man buys twice!

Expanding Hose. These things are bloody useless. Saw them being demo'd at a home and garden show and thought they looked great so being a bit of a gadget man i bought one. First time being used it sprung two leaks so sent it back and eventually got it replaced but it cost me the courier to return. Used the replacement several times and it sprung several more leaks again. No luck in getting another replacement.
Into the bin it went. >:(
-
Chocolate.
Every time I want a piece, it's gone.
-
I've got one of those hoses too!! Haven't even opened it yet. Looked very compact to put in the trailer.
Sounds like I wont bother... >:(

Im getting worried: we "apparently" have a lot of undiscovered half brothers and relatives in the myswag community, and I'm not sure I want to be associated with you lot, much less face the daunting prospect of actually being related... ;D

Oztrail queen size Anywhere bed. Has to be re-inflated every night and makes a lot of noise . Then there's also the problem of having two different sized people on the same mattress. She likes a soft mattress but i prefer firmer. She lets the air out to her comfort, but when i get into bed i sink right down and she's pushed up and is sleeping on a hard mattress. Changing to single self inflating mattresses.
Also, a 1.8l Holden Cruze. That thing is cheap and nasty and is horrible to drive.
Mike

X2 on the dot painting , they left the numbers off mine. ??? How are you supposed to join the dots without numbers ?
