Nice, I notice that the power inlet is at the back now...
-
Not a bad location, the roll out bed would provide some moisture protection. Are the updates mainly cosmetic?
-
I have to go down there tomorrow so ill see if I can get some pics
-
Looks pretty good.

Have they changed the front boot again - looks more vertical, like my 2010 model?

Just thinking the same. There seems to be no gap under for pole holders. Photo could be deceiving though.
-
I like the new livery too. Good change. I like the current one as well though.
Does it still have the checker plate look around the bottom on the OB?

Mate, I think it will be black checker plate. A lot of vans are now doing the black.

So black is the new black?
Yep ;D...

Just been into Jayco . The only changes I have noticed was they have changed the brand of fridge and the colours . Gas bottle is still in the front boot . I also have been told the wheels will be different . Sorry no pics but the kids sent the phone flat playing games
-
Black will show up the dirt more......
-
And the scratches...
-
Not really keen on those colours, they might grow on me though ;D
Apparently will be coming out with 20" chromies with low profile tyres and furry dice
BD ;D

What fridge are they now using?
-
I went to have a look at their Brisbane dealer the other day.
Run out sale on all 2011/12 stock.
One new thing was a new door for the 2013 model.
We looked at an on road Dove model for a special run out price of $21,000 with "free" bed flies.
2013 model could be had for just over $22,000.
No wonder the 2011 Dove is still sitting there.
-
I'm not a fan of them colours either glad I ordered a expanda instead it makes it look to plasticity compared to last years model that just looked tough but I'm sure the colour will grow on me still love the swans just a bit to small for my family would rather spend the extra coin and get something the family is going to grow into then out of
-
Gotta say that the new colours really grab me, like the look alot.
 Cracka

The wheels in the 2013 model pic are exactly the same as those on my 2010 hawk OB. the 2011/12 models were different, but now appears they have gone back to the 2010 style....
Re the January run out sale, if looking to buy, you need to squeeze them on floor stock as they would be keen to shift last years model that they have purchased. e.g in Jan 2011, my 'runout' nov 2010 build hawk OB was $23.5k with flys, roof rack & pole holder. To order the same thing through a dealer up here was $3.5k more & 3 month wait. 2 years old now and from what I can see, it's worth pretty much what I bought it for >:D
That on road dove in Brisbane should be at least $4k less ??? >:D

That new front boot looks very much like the boot on my 2011 Swan (on road). Works pretty well, fits two gas bottles and all the other regular crap.

Will the scratches show up more on black checker plate?

I would thinks so but not sure would have to be some decent scratches
-
What is the new fridge in it, does anyone know?
-
No vent in the bench above the fridge inside any more due to new gas laws and it is a thetford fridge
-
Ill have another look tomorrow when I pick up my camper and let you know what brand the fridge is
-
Anyone know what a decent price for one of these would be? I am looking at one but would like to have some ballpark figures before I start negotiating with dealers. P.M me if you don't feel comfortable posting. Much appreciated!
-
Are you talking new? Stock or with a bunch of options?
-
New, with or without options...
-
For instance, got a quote from a dealer in qld for a new 2013 Swan (Outback version) with the following inclusions:
12v pump to sink
Extended drawbar
Aircon
110L Waeco CR-1110
2x100amp batteries
Fiamma Awning
Alko drop jacks
Hyland coupling
Bed flys
$32,400 - GOOD or NOT?

have you called other dealers and compared it?
-
I would say not. With all those options you should be paying no more than 30k.
Swannie
-
One dealer quoted $28,750 for the base model outback version. This may be a bit better to compare.

If your keen to wait the gold coast show is on in Early March. I got mine from there a couple of years ago through Gold Coast Jayco and they were a couple K cheaper than Brisbane and offered an extra's pack thrown in at the time. Call them and see what they can do now perhaps??? Good luck with your decision.

On factual figures mate. A mate is shopping for one and he just got quoted with pretty much the works for 30k (although not the fridge upgrade). If you are genuine they will deal. His quote started at 32k so they have room to play.

I understand that freight to WA has to be considered but the lowest quote for a Swan with the works is well around 35k. I'll chase it up tomorow and let you know how I go...heres hoping
-
well just got back from the dealer here in Perth and not alot of joy regarding major price cuts on the 2013 model....they had some out the back under cover but are not putting them on the floor until after the Camping show in March.. (must say I love the new look)..Transport from east to west is 2k so that explains a bit of the price discrepency....
Dont think I'll go back until it arrives as its to exspensive ;D ;D...extended the drawbar , upgraded the fridge and got the extra water tank....Doh!!!!
I blame you Swannie...

Had a good look at one today, got the earlier type model boot, electrical inlet under rear bed area, fans built into the plug in lights that go on the bed ends, new interior colours and some minor chages to the internal bed end pole clips. The black checker plate area looked very prone to fading and scratching.

I ordered one last week. If I could order silver checker plate I would.

Sorry for the late reply mate.
It has served us really well. We have had it just on 2 years and have covered alot of groud in that time. Set up and pack up is the just so quick and easy and previously we had an OB Hawk. As for extras at the time we got RV control panel, wind up tv aerial, inner spring mattress, extra 12v socket, anderson plug wiring thats all I can remember at the moment ;D
We have done a our fair share of trips in that time including the Ood trk and Painted Desert as an eg.
-
On a side note my mate has a 2013 Swan OB on order with the works including an extra water tanks an external shower, tregg coupling, anderson wiring etc etc and its just over 28k in Vic
They also come standard now with external gas plumbling for webers etc and 99% sure prewiered for solar

Hell's teeth, these Jayco's are excellent buying, well done! As a comparison, in June 2010 I ordered our GS (picked up Feb 2011) which is equivalent layout to an eagle (ie same as swan but ~ 300mm shorter) with following options: offroad pack, HWS, extra 65l water tank, external shower, extra gas bottle & change over regulator, Kakadu bagged awning with walls, innerspring mattress to queen bed, cruisemaster coil suspension, jerry can holders to rear bumper bar, DO35 tow hitch, extra 105ah battery & uprated 240v charger and it came to just under $45000!!! So in comparison you got plenty for your $: outstanding value for money. Good work

Does anyone know which tyre sizes can come with the 2013 outback swan? I recall reading somewhere that there have been two sizes available in the past. If possible, I wanted to choose something that could be used as an emergency option with my 2010 Kia sorento. It currently has 265/60R18. I figure there ain't going to be 18in wheels available, but something that is close to the diameteter would be good. (However, I freely admit that tyres and wheels sizes baffle me, so maybe I am dreaming).
Also my dealer that the battery can be charged via AC, 12v from the car, and by solar with the existing charging unit. I can't find any info on the charger that is in the 2013 Outback Swan. Maybe it is the standard SETEC unit. I just don't know. Does anyone else know what the stock charger is?
I am pretty sure that I will add the drawbar tap to my list of options . I just had a few questions:
Does it connect to tanks via the 12v pump?
From other pictures on recent year Jaycos, I think it is a normal garden tap. I wanted to attach a short garden hose with a trigger to wash down people at the end of the day or coming back from the beach.

Have you asked Jayco or the supplier any of these questions?
for the best part of $30g's I'd be asking everything and expecting a free dinner
-
Yep - I have asked the dealer. Just no answer yet.
Also sometimes different dealers give different answers, so it is helpful to be prepared for the discussion.

Wow great buy!
New colours look nice but I think I like the look of ours better (2012) :P
-
The charger is the setec.the tap is mains only but shouldnt be to hard to connect to tanks, the wheel options are 15in or 16 in, both are a 245 so same rolling diameter and are a 6 stud
Hope that helps, Dice

we went with the ext shower but only cold water as it comes with the 12v water pump , been informed that this will connect to the internal tap and draw bar tap. not sure about the solar..

:yep definitely a setec charger.

My dealer rang me today with answers. Apparently, it is the setec III.

Any news on what the inside looks like? I understand there is a new lino?

The flooring is the bamboo and a couple of new colours for the fabric is the only interior difference

You are right they are now standard

The cupboard laminex also looked darker then the 2011 model I have.
No vent on the bench and its still a thetforde fridge.

It's the same as the 2012 model , not sure about the 2011 model laminate

Had a gander at the local camper show in Adelaide and saw this little camper from Jayco.....

I was not sure whether it was an English one, an Aussie one or hybrid of both....
Inside the cushions are the same colour scheme with the place names of Australian towns, cities written all over them (think "I've been everywhere song" and you get the idea).
Still not sure about the standard 2013 scheme - the black is a worry.....
