Title: My Swag Flag
Post by: sol on November 01, 2011, 04:35:53 PM
Hi Guys
Has there ever been such a product as a My Swag Flag.
Would like to get 1 to put up beside my Aussie Flag on camper

This has come up a few times, and I'm sure there would be plenty of demand if something was produced, but no one seems real interested in following it up.

Missed merchandising opportunity I think!

Offer withdrawn!  >:D

I'm happy to look into it as we get real estate flags made up so I know of a guy that will give me a good price on them.

Something like 50cm by 25cm??

Don't know what the rest were thinking, but I thought at least twice that size.

Here's an example of the size.  This is of Ketsi's camp on Fraser Island.

I'm assuming that DANBRI and 73bubba's comments were done as a joke?  I'd hope so.

If not, then all I can say is the bitchyness on this forum needs to stop.  I think it's great that everyone's able to have an opinion, but honestly, let's get this back to what it was, a great place for anything camper trailer oriented that we all liked to visit all the time, to share thoughts, experiences, mishaps etc.

I think the mods do a great job on this forum, and I know that Brett and others did a great job by setting this forum up. I guess what I'm saying is don't cut your nose off to spite your face.

Oh, and I agree with Gunna Do, probably twice the size that you mentioned JKhon!!!

Cheers
Grant

A flag would be a great idea especially at Fraser would make a great camping marker for those late night returns after a few beverages when the wife is driving and i'm enjoying myself to much to concentrate on anything else but drinking

I agree, it needs to be full size and we would definitely be up for one as well :cup:  .  I don't have any such contacts but will support the project by buying at least one for the camper and one for the shed / man cave  ;D

My thoughts are for a small triangular flag that could attach to a fly or awning rope about the size the kids get when completing a sports season.

Like a pennant ?

For a 50cm x 100cm flag with a sleeve going up the left hand side in 200D material single sided is $30each (minimum order of 50).

Here is what they sent me - the writing up the top says "Sleeve hole 2" open bottom closed top"

How we make our flags:

* The flag materials we use are the most durable available on the market.
* The dye has UV inhibitors to make sure your colours last.
* The dye is then heat set at 400 degrees to lock in the vibrancy of the colours.
* Then your flag is chemically processed to ensure the longevity.

You missed the point here, you won't by in ones and twos you wold have a cut off date and those that paid in that period would get ordered and then you would buy those in bulk, why should Brett have to outlay his own money and then wait for payment, and what about those who ordered and don't pay, Brett is left holding the flag.

Still believe money up front and if I have to wait a couple of months till the flag arrives then I prefer to do that than have someone else out of pocket.

Or negotiate a deal the same as the wheel covers and order and pay for your own
 That my opinion anyway

Sorry to say this but. All I want to know is are we doing this? If so what is the cost? Where do I send the money? and When do you need it by?

If we are going to get them stop ginning around and just do it. I don't even know who has organised this or anything so I don't even know who to thank. If it has Brett's permission to run with then it is OK. Someone just needs to say right I am ordering 30 of these to get them at $x.00 Whos's in, problem solved and we have flags underway. Postage wont be much more than $8.00 for a flag as it folds up pretty small and doesnt weigh much.

If no one is doing this how do I unsubscribe to this thread ;D

The short answer is...the Flags are getting organised ASAP.  Brett's last set of days off from work were spent on the Forum Upgrade and this days off will be spent on the Flags including determining size, design and what the minimum bulk order will be to ensure that we get them at a good price for everyone.  As soon as he knows price and approx ETA he will post up on the Forum.

Hi Guys and Gals

Sorry about the delay in getting the flags raised (tee hee).

Have had some issues with getting the artwork in the file type that is compatible with the flag makers however after a lot of toing and froing it shouldn't be too long before we have a proof for you to look at.

We have changed the design a little from what JKohn had mocked up - we found that using the member sticker logo left too much blank (and therefore white) on the flag.  The design is now based off an unrolled cooler but will show you a proof soon so you can see.

Again - sorry about the delay - we obviously won't have them for Christmas but hopefully will for Australia Day!

Brett & Jill

Is the flag only going to be printed on one side?

Hey mystq

Whilst it is only printed on one side you can clearly see the design on both sides (only it will be in reverse when you look at it from the back). We looked at getting the two sided flag however the manufacturer said you would need the wind of a cyclone to get it to fly.
Hope this helps....

To be honest I have done very little compared to JKohn who did 99% of the leg work and Brett who did or the finals...

Hi Folks

Just an update on the Flags - the Manufacturer has done an awesome job and has finished them already  :cup: - he express posted them yesterday so they should be with me either this afternoon or tomorrow.  Will forward them on to those who've paid as soon as I receive them.  Looks like everyone should have them in time for their Australia Day celebrations!

Will post up some piccies of them when they arrive so you can all see them in the flesh.

For those who haven't ordered one yet and would like to...it's not too late!

Cool, that was quicker than I had expected. Will have to go up to the man cave and find a spot to hang it  ;D , the other is of course for the camper, It'll fly proudly beside the Aussie flag on the other side of the annex.
