Sorry to hear that Eddy. Hope the long arm of the Law also has a bloody big stick too >:(. Gives a bloke the Shits when scum can't keep their hands off other people's gear. Hope you come out on top mate.
-

Jeez Ed, they did give you a clean out! Makes you wonder where the world heading some days. Hope the cops can recover your gear & slam these turds hard.

I feel for you edsnav as I know exactly what its like, our house got broken into last year, heaps was taken and it turned out to be 14 year old kids, they were selling the stuff they took down at the local high school. Hope they catch whoever broke in and you manage to get some of your stuff back, or are covered by insurance. Good luck with it all.
-
How does nobody see Shit like this happening? You cant walk down the street with that much stock under your arm.... try carrying a Waeco and chainsaw for more than a few feet...
Keep an eye on crime converters in your area.
insurance or no insurance its a Shit thing to have happen to anybody... Hope you get your hands on them yourself before the bacon does.
-
scumbags, I know first hand it is not a good feeling, and your proably not in a good place at this point, if they also took a spare set of house keys the insurance will cover re keying throughout,
-
The trouble is we have interfered with natures fine balance.Darwins survival of the strogest wont work while we support the bogans on the dole, cut it off and let them go....Perhaps they needed the money for a tattoo on their 10yr old or a new pirtek jumper or perhaps get the rat tail washed.
So sorry to hear that mate.Hope you get it back, this really s@#ts me.
My trouble is with 2 small kids, my house looks like its been ransacked everyday,i probly wouldnt notice anything missing for a week!
-
That's shocking Eddy. I would rather catch up with them first. The police do the right thing then the bloody judges let them off with a slap on the wrist. Be different if it was their house. I would head around to the local pawn stores and tell them what is missing. Maybe they will keep an eye out.
Hope insurance comes to the party for you.
-
It is a terrible thing. I hope you had everything insured.
We were broken into 3 days before Christmas 2008. They took everything under the tree, as well as heirloom jewellery and game consoles, my laptop with all our family pics for 5 years.
Not being able to sleep is normal and it will pass. Hopefully the cops do a decent job with the home. The fingerprint guy took 2 days to turn up and we could not touch anything before or tidy up the mess.
Get yourself an alarm and use it. We had one but it was not on as the wife had gone for 10 minutes to pick up the kids from school.
I bet you will know the person/s that did it. Almost certainly they are local/within the suburb, if not within a few streets.
We suspect who did ours but cant pin him with anything. A kid and his mate, 2 years older than my own. >:(
Good luck with it and kep your chin up.
-
We had it happen twice in three months back in the ninetys . According to the insurance company that is quite a common occurence because the thieves know that there will be a heap of new stuff that has just been replaced. Beware!
As well as the usuals we lost a couple of large bags ; used to carry off the booty . I think a lot of daytime burglaries are done on foot . Cars have numbers on them and can be a liability to people who do this on a regular basis .
A back to base alarm system was installed and we have had no trouble since ; even though we had drug dealers next door for a while but that is another story ............
The back to base system costs less than ten dollars a week and is worth it for the peace of mind.
-
Sorry to hear of your B&E Eddy.
An alarm siren/strobe box out the front and window stickers will deter the majority of thieves.
At the very least a well designed/installed alarm will limit the time thieves spend on site to a minute or less. They will grab the first thing they see and take off once the sirens trip instead of sifting through your belongings for hours on end.
In my area of the world the standard "back to base" monitoring charge is less than a $1 a day for residential sites.
It's the sort of thing that is normally considered a waste of money untill this happens to your home.
-
Sorry about your loss, hope they catch the bast$#@^. When the alarm company installed ours (didnt get burgled) he said that 80% of the alarms they install are immediately after the home being burgled.

I agree Chris,
Police do what they can but their hands are tied. Its up to the court system to enforce law and to hand out maximum penalties when required, which seems to rarely occur.
Hope you guys pull up ok Ed.
cheers Chris

That's bad news Eddy. Low life that do that don't deserve the assistance they get out of the system already. >:(
My parents were broken into a couple of years ago - they were at home in the back yard at the time! Here's hoping the cops catch up with them before you do! >:D

Not nice Eddy.
I posted this on Pradopoint the other day:
Theives Abound - Sydney Inner West
Just issuing a warning to all Prado (& RAV4) owners, there is currently a spate of theft of parts off RAVs and Prados in the inner west of Sydney, in particular Earlwood, Campsie and Bardwell Park areas (according to Police). For instance my brother (120 series) had his spare wheel & cover stolen 2 weeks ago and 2 days ago they came back and stole both side steps. I suggest that you padlock your spare wheel.
By the way - they are brazen as they entered his property on both occasions!!
-
What can you do , B/inlaw 6'2' and a police sargent , house fully alarmed ,stickers on every door and windows , Rottweiller dog close to 60kg , neighbourhood watch area , all neighbours in the job or armed forces / prison guards ., and still got broken into by a bunch of nohoper toerags.
-
In my area (Bathurst) there have been several Camper Trailers stolen recently . A guy from work went downtown one morning and when he returned his C/T was gone . Stolen out of the driveway in broad daylight .
A couple of weeks later I picked up the Xtrk and spent several evenings after work coming up with this hitch cover/lock/support leg.The padlock is supported up inside that vertical sleeve and the key has been rivetted to an old hacksaw blade to allow it to reach the barrel. Weight is about 20 kilos .
-
Did they get the spare car keys?
-
We feel for you, it's a horrible feeling to have your house and sense of security violated like that.
-
I hear your pain, We went through it just over 12 months ago, first day of the school holidays funnily enough, Everything was replaced under insurance apart from the photos which I now back up externally, unfortunatly I learnt this the hard way.
One thing I learnt though is when you head out leave your blinds open so people can see in, thieves love the blinds being closed as once their in the house no one can see them going through your gear.
I now have an alarm installed by a good friend who builds high end alarm systems, even monitors my gates, I reccomend everyone get themselves an alarm
Hope your week pick up anyway
Cheers

Sorry to hear about your house break Eddy, these little ar**wipes today have no respect for anyone or anything.

bum full of buchshot.

Sorry to here about your B&E edsnav. These guys are the scum of the earth.
A friend of mine got broken into a few years ago while he was at work, He had lots of electrical goods stolen from inside.
He wanted to buy a gun but thought he'd buy a dog instead.
One day he got a call from his neighbour saying come home quick, Bouncer is barking and its getting annoying, so he came home from work and found his dog Bouncer in the back yard with this little scum bag bound up againts the colour bond fence in the corner crying his little eyes out scared s*!tless. the little prick jumped the fence but didn't see the dog!
As my mate approached him he was blabbering "Sorry sorry, I didn't see the dog. He wasn't here last time"

Sorry to hear about this mate - it's becoming more and more common.
I think I will be getting alarms and a big dog

Sorry to hear these stories,
Without saying too much, I actually caught an attempted break in on my property on the south coast back in the mid 90's. Let's just say the cop's weren't involved and the end result was satisfactory. If your in the right place at the right time, there is such a thing as true justice.

No good at all mate. Sorry to hear. You may want to upgrade your security for the next couple of months also. I know a few mates who have been cleaned out like you, and then the thieving buggers have come back about 6 to 8 weeks latter because they know you would have replaced all your stuff with brand new stuff through insurance.
Just be carefull.
Regards
Jas

Sadly thats not always true.. I know a guy that did that, and the bloke who was tryin to get into our mates shed went to the cops and he was charged, not the burglar... I think it was the broken nose, one eye shut and missing teef that did it.
-
Best story I've ever heard was on the TV news a couple of years back where a home invasion went wrong and the victim was a martial arts expert who carved up a group of armed intruders with a samari sword at least killing one of them in self Defence. I remember the story from the 6PM News and I think it might of happened in Adelaide.
It's quite heart warming to hear of stories like that. I have no sympathy for the armed perpetrator who was killed in self Defence.

For very small dollars you can hav them on film, sms you snapshots in realtime, story the video on the internet, etc etc etc
Like an alarm its not a cure but its something that will probably help.
-
CCTV nine times out of ten gives you a grainy (cheap crap flooding the market) clip of someone who can't be identified or has a hoody on stealing your stuff. It has scecific uses but a B&E is not really one of them.
An alarm is really the only thing that will greatly reduce the chances of a break in and reduce the time inside your premises if a B&E occurs.

So did the two kids get charged? Were they even identified. It indicates that they are hoping someone recognises them. Do you really think that from that clip you could without a doubt? By the look of the clip I'd say the homeowner got a grainy vid of two unknown persons attempting a B&E. I highly doubt that footage could be used with success in court.
For CCTV footage to be admissible into a court of law it must be legable without doubt and be "water marked" to show any tampering that may have occured with the recording. Most low spec gear is not capable of water marking. Even then the case normally relies on other evidence.
I install top end CCTV as part of my job and assure you that it's quite common for even high quality footage to be taken by police only to be rejected as any use in a conviction.
CCTV in a home environment is great to get a clip of someone you don't know stealing your stuff.
-
So did the two kids get charged? Were they even identified.
Read the article. The kids were identified by the photos from the CCTV that were posted up in the local shop window. Were they charged? Does anyone get charged and nailed these days for anything, if they do they go to court, which is a waste of money adn time.
that one I have bookmarked for LOL's.. its a classic

Sorry to hear about the breakin, bastards....
Anyway, the National Parks and Wildlife in NSW are using small portable CCTV's, quite inexpensive and are getting results.
Our department at work is seriously looking into buying some and putting them in places to catch rubbish dumpers, vandals and general idiots in our parks.
www.farmcam.com.au/ (http://www.farmcam.com.au/)
I've bought two, stuck one in the front garden facing towards the front door/windows etc and the same out the back. They work well, bloody Bandicoots digging up the lawn, we got visited by a couple of cats and the resident python.
The camera works at night via infra red and can be time lapsed and such....they're not bad.
Note: I have no affiliation what so ever to the manufacturer.

Same car turned up in our street today and parked in driveway of house across the road then proceeded to check place out before moving on to another house a few doors down police called but the car was gone before they arrived. They are so not worried about anyone seeing them I just dont get it.

Drugged up is why.
More the better, makes them easier to catch.
