As some of you may know I have had a fair share of bad luck lately. Due to the latest incident i need to repaint my bar work and as I always have trouble leaving things how they were I am considering a change.
Any comments welcome.
This is a picture of it colour coded

This is when it was black

And yes the car does appear bogged in both photos....awesome trick photography...lmao

Hi another option would be to go for a silver/grey colour , maybe even include the snorkle into this colour format. My two bobs worth.

Someone at work had that idea too but the wife wasn't too keen on the idea.

A dayglo color would stand out in the snow.. ;D

i like the black. Looks flashy ;D
-
Although I am a Qld'er and my heart is maroon, I have to say that IMHO that the black looks better.
-
sorry got exited when I read bar and thought of drinks
-
Well first off, you scared me with your reply to my towing a camper across the Simpson and you posted that pic. Had to tell you the Paj had no issues ;D Teasing mate.
I like the black bar. I think the colour matched bar is to much. just IMO....
-
How about have it upholstered in baby fur seal?
-
Colour coded every time, it gives the 'Bling' in to a ride....and it looks smart.!!
-
Here's one from left field, colour match to the wheel arch trim...a bit tricky.
See below

I would go with the black. Easier to touch up stone chips, but the best idea would be ask SWMBO and go with that.
If you make the decission it will be wrong.

a little off topic, but might help you make up your mind. Folks have posted that paint is easier to touch up than powder coating, but my guys said powder coated items ca be touched up easily ad have ordered me a spray can of the same colour as they coated my rear bar.
Normally I think black is the right colour, but I do like the matched look on your rig.
-
Will you lot go camping ???
-
Pure bright white , shows up the bug / roo / emu / bird splatter and blood so you know its time to get the Gernie out and give it a clean .
-
colour coded is the go ;D
Ignore the starches, dents and chips, they just add character!
-
Definitely colour coded to match the GU. :cup: :cup:
While you are at it colour code the camper as well ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Cheers

Just strip it and hot dip it.
Industrial galvanising says "I'm tougher than you AND Chuck Norris"
None of that namby pamby paint for me ;D
-
Excuse the ignorance but what does SWMBO mean? I will probably feel very stupid when i find out...lol

Its definately easier for me to touch up paint as I run a smash repair shop... ;D ;D ;D

Oh, you will... Ask Mrs MAC GU. SHE will explain what it is AND how it will all work from here on in...
(She Who Must Be Obeyed)

The same colour as the wheel arches (preferably both colour coded, but if wheel arches are black, then go with black bar).

If your not going with the dayglo, color coded looks a little more up market IMO

Sorry about this Mr Mac, but of course it looks bogged it's a Nissan!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D (just joking).
I would go with the black, the colour coding does look flash when it is unmarked, but, as you know, they don't stay that way for long when you hit the scrub.
 Cracka

I have a colour coded bar & while it does look great any chips can ruin the effect.
Also after last weeks run, bugs look like stonechips & stonechips look like bugs.
I'd go black for practicality & colour for the bling.
-
Go for black, color coded looks too bling.
It is not a city slicker is it?
So black it is.
-
Ok the decision has been made...
Although the majority of replies say black the majority of votes are for colour coded... ???
Colour coded it is... :cup:
Thanks for all the input
-
Good work. I know the black is easier to work with, but colour coded looks so much better 99% of the time!

Nice. Well done - I think it looks heaps better colour coded. No rule that says "real 4wds" have to look like crap! ;D ;D Bling for the win!
Please, whatever you do though, DON'T paint the snorkel! There's a couple of cars running around home with colour-matched snorkels, and they just look SOOO wrong. ;D I'm sure the owners probably like them, but it's really not my cup of tea. Probably sounded like a realy good idea at the time...
Thanks!
Matto :)
