Maintenance Engineer at a Cage Chicken farm...   I lasted 3 months...  The people were great, just chicken Shit, rats and Caged chickens  :(  got to me after a while..     We refuse to have caged eggs at home now....   If you buy them you are not just cheap, you are also insensitive $%^& as the way those birds were treated..  :(  hell I lasted 3 months,   they die in their cages then their carcases are sent back to a fed factory where there are mashed up died turned into chicken food and sent back to where they died to fed the other poor birds....   And you Eat those eggs....   The kicker is if they live to be free of the cages they are killed anyway and end up in nuggets....

Repairing electric sanitary napkin disposal units (the burner and macerator type). These would often be sent in full (of Tampons etc) as the units had stopped and the users kept filling them up.

I still get flashbacks when I go down that aisle in Woolies.

Since I was low man on the totem pole I always had to climb down inside on the ladder and do the stirring with the long handle shovel....

I worked as a GARBO in the days when we picked up the bins by hand.

The job wasn't so bad but at the end of the day we'd pool all the beer we were given then sit down to one cool VB, then one hot Brisbane Bitter (more like Brisbane River water) and then a stale Courage.

Enough to make you vomit but we had some good times.

My worst job ever was working on an onion farm.  You cry all day, you get all dusty and dirty, and you couldn't get the strong onion smell off your hands.

Needless to say my girlfriend at the time dumped me not long after I started!!

It's a toss up between having to wash the slimy Frankfurts , in a deli I worked at so they could be sold or having to attend post mortems, both repulsive in their own way.

i can literally say ive shovelled sh1t for a living

when i was busted broke and struggling to get work i was offered a job with a bloke up the road who sold firewood and sheep poo door to door - 1/2 the day was spent cutting firewood,  the other 1/2 spent shovelling out from under a sheep pens while the dirty buggers above piddled all over you as you filled the bags

the next day was spent selling door to door

i hated that job and stuck it for 2 months till i found something better.

the prophetic words of my old man when i used to wag school came back to haunt me every day on that job

"son - if you dont buck your ideas up, you will end up shovelling sh1t for a living"

he still doesnt know about that job btw - never told him

I spent two weeks as a 17 year old working in a factory making fibreglass pools.  Itched, stunk, hot (big tin shed in summer).  Worst was painting gel coat on the insides of the barrels for the pool filters.  You couldn't breathe properly in the fumes, so it was take a deep breath, paint as much as you could and then pull your head out for a breath.

Only worked for one place in my career, and its for just under 21 years. However, during that time I have held 4 different positions which was an interesting part of my working career for the one company. Cant say that the differrent positions were bad at all, frustrating at times yes, but all part of life.

To say I am sad that I will become unemployed as of this Thursday, lunchtime  :'(   :'(  which is a little sad, but as one door shuts, another will open  8)

So my worst job is the job that I am leaving due to our parent company moving all processes off shore for the past 4 years now.

Pumping petrol at a servo.....the owners were freaks.I got the job because the last bloke got stabbed in the throat during an armed hold-up 4 days earlier. I found this out after I started of course. I think I lasted a month or so......NO THANKS!!!

Seconded.  It was 4.5 years of hell and I couldn't use any of the many tools on the customers or bosses.  I was so glad to make it through to the other side.

How do I unblock my loo?  Call a plumber ...
How do I wire up these new lights?  Call an electrician ...
I need a do-hicky for my thing-ma-bob ... they are in aisle 9 on the left hand side about 1/3 of the way down.
I'm trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill, how would I go about it?  Excavators are in aisle 22, top shelf & they come with instructions ... I think they are on special this week too.

The WORST JOB I have ever had
« Reply #48 on: August 27, 2014, 06:26:41 PM »
Well it wasn't a job, more a course back when I was younger. I had to massage 18-20yr old girls for 2 days. I was the only male doing the course and there was about 15 girls.

They got up on the table, I had to tuck a towel into their G string, pull the G string down to their knees and massage.

Being the only male I was reluctant to massage the inner thigh but had to.

These girls were all fitness freaks, peach arsed and very respectable.

I too had to strip off and be massage as it was a rotation system.

It was a hands on massage course for Uni students. This story can be heard in greater depth, around the campfire :)

Worked as a slaughter man @ the local abby's for years
That can be rough

There was a bloke there who worked in the gut room at the end of the sheep line his job was to put 2000 sheep heads on a guillotine one after the other & scoop the brains out
we called him the brain surgeon
