We were sold on the Oz Tent when we had a little dome tent that was folding down from the wind on Ningaloo Station in WA, whilst our friends in their Oz Tent weren't even pegged down! We ended up getting a RV5 cheap in the old bright green and yellow colours that was used once for an Amway convention near Karratha
Since then, we have got an RV3 (didn't really need the space of the RV5, and also the awning zippers didn't match the older version. We are absolutely sold on the Foxwing as one of our favourite bits of kit, and after seeing the Jet Tent (and yes, it does look like a BW Turbo to us too), if that was around we probably would have bought that instead. We've also got an Ozpod to put all the tent stuff in.
Our biggest reason for switching to a camper trailer from the Oz Tent is pack up time with all of the awnings, plus sleepmats and camp beds. Considering when we go on a big trip we need a good 3 or 4 days of long days of driving to get pretty much anywhere from here (Darwin), we need to be able to pack up as quickly as possible.
The Oz Tent has seen a good bit of terrain - two trips to WA, down to Tassie (in the wettest month of the wettest year since for ever
), plus many smaller trips, and it's still going strong. We don't hesitate to recommend them. NEVER EVER have we had any water get in them, so I think that's a testament to their quality.
