There's no Great Evil conspiracy against consumers within engineering, manufacturing and supply. Just the many tradeoffs incurred to satisfy diverse tastes, priorities and wallets. But first comes all the insatiable Gummint eggsperts, nanny-staters and usual suspects.

It’s about the only way you could get bogged on that beach. Flat, firm and wide, on a hot day there can be 100s of cars on that beach.

I reckon I’d leave a very nasty taste in the whales mouth.

The older I get the less this world makes sense...

Men's sheds have gained popularity around the country, offering a safe place for blokes to catch up with their friends and get on the tools.

But a men's shed in Brisbane's bayside has banned members from using power tools, with local zoning laws stating they can't make noise above a certain decibel.

And the local council is refusing to budge, releasing a statement "there is no provision to allow relaxation" on the rule.

"I've been fighting for about five years now to try and get this ban lifted," club president, Geoff Buchus told Today.

"All the tools we use are battery powered, there's nothing above about 65 decibels, but unfortunately I've just been coming up against a brick wall all the time."

Geoff said the environmental department imposed a blanket noise ban on Coochiemudlo Island, ?meaning noise can not exceed 35 decibels.

Bloody hell, I saw that news item aswell.
Hey, our councilours have decided to give our GM a pay increase for a job well done.
She now takes home nearly $7000.00 a week, $364000.00 a year
Yet. She has 30+ inquiries into her abuse of local goverment powers.
I hate the way councils regard their income base, that's all ratepayers are, an income base.

There are some nice homes for sale on Coochie but not sure I would want to buy one. Obviously they must be glued together since power tools can't be used !!

Or whisper too close to someone. How do the locals run a fridge or washing machine then, let alone brush their teeth.
