Sounds like she got a little short with them! Must have been difficult to get of her high horse.
... its only a small issue... I feel like there’s a joke here… but it’d probably just go over her head.

Basically none of us can trust the virtual economy particularly with AI now producing undetectable fake persons and businesses-
 https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/tractor-scammers-are-fleecing-farmers-out-of-tens-of-thousands-of-dollars-and-there-s-nothing-the-banks-can-do-about-it/ar-AA1u6aho
So really we've come full circle to dealing over the counter with real bricks and mortar and real people and goods and even then be careful leaving deposits you're not prepared to lose  :'(

Speaking of deposits it seems when you do ignore that reality the crybabies always want a share of ours with the banks in order to kiss it better.
There's no Great Evil conspiracy against consumers within engineering, manufacturing and supply. Just the many tradeoffs incurred to satisfy diverse tastes, priorities and wallets. But first comes all the insatiable Gummint eggsperts, nanny-staters and usual suspects.
