Yeah they do but I do as you do or just look down, till I'm past the mongrel things. If they angled the signs down a bit they wouldn't throw back at you and would still me reflective.

The light bar draws 24amp and the wiring on it is 6mm. The spots are worth $1475 a pair but not sure of the bar cost.

Those spots and bar are all 4500 and still flare as you say but even a good set of headlights will still do the same.  ;)

Didn't road signs used to be angled 5° away from the road for that reason? Not sure if it's still done that way.

I'm scared of the dark too...………….
Most of my night stuff is remote, so not many signs to deal with. The only ones that I've found to be the worst are in the Pilbara/Kimberley. They have these 200 foot by 300 foot massive signs warning about stray cattle on the road...…………..it takes 10 min for your eyes to fix themselves then 15 min after the sign is the next one...……….

Can't say that I've ever noticed any signs like that and I've been driving trucks for 35yrs at night time.  ??? That's how they should be set in the ground though!  ;)

Hi,
    A truck driver's eyes would be at a greater angle to the light beam than the eyes of a car driver. Thus get less glare reflected.
Shooting at night time gets the best eye reflection when the sight line and light beam are as close as possible.

Temporary update - my mate had some old unused HID spotties sitting at home. I bolted them up and they work, but obviously they have a high colour temp. Yet to use them at night so will see how they go for now.

I've never had HID spotties but I have had a couple of HID dive lights and they were fantastic
The blue really pierced the water and turned night into day
One of my mates commented one night on a wreck dive "what's the point of diving at night with you with those light on"  :laugh: :laugh:

Bit of a follow up. I didn’t really like the HIDs, there were only a set of cheapies my mate had so probably not a good comparison.

Anyway I found a brand new set of my old narvas for $119 on eBay, ordered Monday from Adelaide and arrived here in Perth Thursday. Mounted them up but will add a little support bracket to stop them breaking like the last set…
