For years I said I always wanted to do this trip. Then I finally said I'm just going to do it. And now this happens! I don't know whose more disappointed.. me or my step son.

Give it time for the dust to settle. Just a hunch, but I'm willing to bet that it will be business as usual by the time the tourist season kicks off around the end of May?

Thats a big call.   I,m betting it wont open for quite a while longer..   ???

You could always do a trip via Daintree, Lions Den, Cooktown for a week and a look around there.  Do day trips/overnighters with Cooktown as your base. . I see Elim Beach is also shut down....If the Aboriginal communities are smart they will shut down immediately...their health issues will be a deadly mixture if the virus gets in .  Also depends if Cooktown shuts down as well as the roadhouses on the way up....  Who knows at this stage??
Having lots of friends on farcebook is the same as having lots of money in monopoly...means absolutely nothing!!

At this stage, only the tip is closed.  Plenty to see and do still.

I've been to the tip twice, but if I ever went again I personally wouldn't be going North of the Ferry (Even if no Virus) as so much to see and do before the Ferry.
