Spot on.  The dinosaurs can say what they want but the electric vehicle revolution is worldwide and will not stop.  I still think that vehicles with fuel cells will also be on the market.  2050...maybe water power!   Who knows?..

Now now, you have a legitimate excuse to carry more beer when you go out traveling, fuel cells need water, drink beer, body turns it into water eeerrr fuel, P*ss into fuel cell extend E vehicles range..
Think about it, tell the wife that the extra cartons of beer are there for safety reasons and is the fuel that will be needed to do the trip, just got to be mindfull of being DUI tho .

I reckon by 2050 cars will be truly autonomous and people will asking “DUI, what’s that?”

And if you’re too drunk the microchip in your head will automatically talk to Google and arrange to get you home or to a hotel. Facebook will know exactly what hotels you like and Instagram will automatically clean up any incriminating photos .

I was at yarangabilly caves in Kosciuszko Nat Park yesterday and they have an EV charge station down there in front of the kiosk.

Is the infrastructure for that onerous?   Do you just need access to the grid?  Perhaps they’re easier to have around the place than dirty underground fuel tanks.

At least with electricity transport is ore organised.

I pulled up at a normal smallish suburban shopping complex (think a typical home makers type place with 10 or so shops in a L shape and about 40 open air car parks in the middle) and right in front of the pie shop  that I went to grab some lunch was 4 recharge car parks.
Took a walk along an esplanade beside a river, more recharge points.
Went into town for dinner, more recharge points.
Airport car park, recharge points. Council offices, recharge points.

As far as I know, yes, you just need access to mains power.

out of curiosity....aee people allowed to park diesel and petrol powered vehicle in those car parks, or do you get fined for doing so, are they dedicated EV only spaces?

Honestly couldn’t tell you.
One would assume they are EV car only places.
But having 4 charging bays at a shopping center isn’t much different then having 10 “mums with prams only” bays that we see everywhere these days...

Bit like going back to the horse and cart....unlike a fuel car where you spend 2 mins refuelling, with these you have to wait until it's good and ready.

Got to pay for Hospitals, roads, schools, Bronwyn Bishops helicopters, etc with something.

I won't have to worry, I'll be dead before the internal combustion engine is fazed out.
But I keep saying, maybe in my lifetime (max 30 yrs left ) batteries won't be the solution......hydrogen, nuclear or some sort of fusion ??
They need a fuel that also works on big trucks, airplanes, trains etc, and batteries ain't it !!
