Has a lot of diagrams in it to try and explain what will be Acceptable and Unacceptable. 

Those with an old straight bar that doesn't curve to the shape of the vehicle may be in trouble.

No more ridiculously over sized 5 post bullbars on commodore utes...

What’s next.? Banning massive bullhorn stickers covering the whole rear window?
Or outlawing CAT mudflaps or setting a limit of no more then 5 or 6 antennas hanging off a commodore Ute..??

Pretty sure that my HJ45 only has to comply with a smattering of the ADRs that are referenced, so that's fine... ADR's that your vehicle needs to comply with are on the compliance plate.

I could be reading this wrong, but my take is that the new regulations only apply to vehicles manufactured after 2002.

Vehicle frontal protection systems (VFPS) – which includes bull bars, nudge bars and
similar devices – fitted to vehicles in NSW must comply with vehicle safety standards
specified in the Australian Design Rules and the Road Transport (Vehicle
Registration) Regulation 2017. Among general requirements for protrusions, the
Regulation requires that VFPS fitted to vehicle models first manufactured after 31
December 2002 comply with the Australian Standard AS 4876.1–2002 Motor vehicle
frontal protection systems Part 1: Road user protection (except Clause 3.2, “Road
user protection criterion”).

I'd be more worried about the 2+ ton of car at 60kph.

I was working on a project in Toowoomba a couple of years ago and had site meetings every week for about 4 months.
Toowoomba is hands down the ridiculously oversized bullbar capital of Australia. No question.

And those tuff bars are all for show.
They’re just thin gauge alloy.
Look ‘tuff’ but don’t help bugger all in the event of an animal strike.
