cleaning vinyl/rubber interior floor of ute
« on: January 23, 2018, 09:56:09 AM »
hi all,

as the ute is up for sale, it needs a good clean in the interior...

more specifically, the vinyl/rubber floor in the interior... no carpets on this model...

i was thinking about using some CT18 to remove dirt/food/etc from the floor...

anyone have any tips on what else would be good to use for this task?

any thoughts appreciated.

So Easy.

I prefer the pressure pack cans, the foaming action lifts heaps of dirt.

Pump on a can or 2 and let it do it’s thing. Once all the foam is gone just wipe up the excess liquid and your done.

Use it in the engine bay as well. ;)

I spray it on the lower part of the door trims, but wipe around closer to the cloth parts.

I don’t spray it on the dash, makes a mess on the glass and hard to clean up properly.
Same as I try to avoid the paint on the outside when I spray the plastic guards on the Jeep.

As some would know JK Wranglers have heaps of black plastic on the flares and both bumpers, not only does that make heaps of toxic smoke when they burn, it also means you need a good protectant. ;)

Armor all is complete rubbish these days and I’ve tried pretty much every other cleaner/protectant on the shelves at Repco, Supercheap and the likes.
For me, So Easy is the best.

Others will have their favorites, but I say it cleans the best and lasts the longest, but most importantly for me it’s just spray on and done (with just a quick wipe on some areas to give an even finish). That leaves more time for the important things.... ;D

so you just spray it on, let it foam and then use the hose to wash off?  doesn't damage components in the engine bay?  shorts anything out?

always been a bit wary about hosing inside the engine bay...

also, could i use this on rubber window trims on the outside?  i would just spray into a cloth and wipe on instead of spraying directly onto the trim... ?

so you just spray it on, let it foam YES

and then use the hose to wash off?  NO. Just let it do it's thing then wipe of any excess bits of liquid pooled up in corners of the plastic mouldings
doesn't damage components in the engine bay?  shorts anything out? Not for me, I've only done it half a dozen times. But the guy that showed me this trick has the cleanest engine bay you've ever seen. He sprays the stuff in there nearly every weekend I'm sure of it... ;D

always been a bit wary about hosing inside the engine bay... Light rinse with water, just to loosen the mud. Obviously don't full-on pressure clean in there. ;)

also, could i use this on rubber window trims on the outside?  i would just spray into a cloth and wipe on instead of spraying directly onto the trim... ? Yes, works for me
