Woodburn Traffic Jam - What a debacle
« on: December 23, 2017, 04:37:56 PM »
Traveling South through Woodburn today.

Signs up saying 35min delay........the delays ended up being traffic controller in the middle of town stopping the traffic to allow people to cross the road. They had safety fencing down the centre medium strip channeling everybody to one crossing point.

The north bound traffic must have been 20km long.

Mind boggling.

Not stop the traffic every time somebody wants to cross the rd for a pie would be a good start.

We headed north through it. Wow, took us 4 hours to travel 40km. To think this was the result of an improvement! Bugger that!

Dont be so hard on em....naturally when we have the best weather, the best scenery and camping , as well as the best rugby teams,..they will want to increase their life's experience and move here.

A friend drove back from Port to Lismore yesterday after seeing her father for Christmas.
Took her Five hours to travel from Grafton to Woodburn before heading to Lismore.
Friday it took me an hour & a half to travel from Grafton to Maclean.
Dickhead drivers overtaking while vehicles coming the other way, forcing the oncoming traffic to move off the road. >:D >:D
Some drivers need a bullet between the eyes. >:D
H/way should of been upgraded 20 bloody years ago.

Pleased I’m not on highway 1 over the break.

I heard the other day that the company doing the Macksville section were going to be penalised $120,000.00 a day if it wasn’t completed on time. A good incentive to finish I reckon.

Merry Christmas all
Cheers

Looks pretty quiet in Macksville so the bypass must be open http://m.livetraffic.rta.nsw.gov.au/Camera.aspx?r=d2e6031

The hi-way is normally fine in holiday periods as we travel to Iluka a fair bit......the hold up yesterday was traffic controller stopping he hi-way in both directions every time some wanted to cross the road.....the roads or number of driver wasn’t the main issue.

I remember at Easter friends saying that traffic trying to get through Woodburn was backed up to the Iluka turn off.
Saturday just gone,  I live in Lawrence, I needed to be at the Maclean Showground to start setting up for the Rodeo next Saturday, I had to lineup and wait for a second ferry load, that is unheard of for a Saturday arvo, except for when there is an accident on the Highway and everyone travels through Lawrence.
I was also told the Summerland Highway was no better from Grafton to Casino.
I was told that Grafton had come to a stand still on the highway with traffic trying to cross the bridge.
The Highway was blocked at South Grafton and it took some people 1.5 hours to get from South Grafton into Grafton.
It's insane the amount of traffic on the roads these day, as well as the dickheads that do stupid Shit to get a car length up the road further than the next bloke.
They are killing themselves and others and don't give a flying &%$#  >:D

Safe travels Weeds.
