I have been with iinet for maybe 15 years. Their customer service was exemplary, a major factor in their success.

Then they got taken over and anecdotal evidence is that the new management couldn't care less.

I haven't had an issue since the new regime and I hope I don't.

Sad really.

Here in Adelaide I was with Adam Internet since the business started operating some 15 odd years ago, they then got taken over by IInet & then TPG. My internet transferred to each company with each takeover & customer service dropped at each time. I can't ever remember receiving such crap customer service. I'm now with Optus with the NBN who seem to be okay to date.

Same story here. I've been with iinet for 16 years. Their customer service used to be outstanding but since TPG took over it has gone done hill and they now rival Telstra for crap customer service and sheer incompetence.

Iinet have THE worst customer service bar none....and I consider Telstra to be trash. Had an extended barney with them, and eventually after months of crap and life shortening anguish they actually broke my internet/phone contract just to get rid of me. Biggest pack of dumb a##es of all time. Never never go there.

Don't need to worry about it dropping out now, it's not working at all.

Yes, and it used to work well. The saffies were always helpful and polite, i have noticed the quality drop off since my last issue.

As I said above iiNet service was great, particularly from the saffers.

What I liked was that you didn't have to sit holding the phone. You could leave the number and they would call back when it was your turn. Don't know if they still do that

Maybe somebody could sell that tech to Centrelink, telstra and a few banks ...

Another one here too.  We were with Adam internet, which was taken over by IINET and now TPG.  Great, personalised service with Adam internet.... to absolute rubbish with TPG.  We lost internet connection for days and weeks at a time.  We were on our phone for hours trying to get it sorted.  Promises to have technicians sent out which would never happen, promises to call us back to give us updates... which would never happen, we'd finally get through to someone by phone after being on hold for 40 minutes, only to be told we had to be transferred, and instead of being transferred they disconnect the call.  Try calling back and no-one could identify who'd we we'd been talking with, so have to start describing the problem all over again.  Promises of refunds to our account, yet every month we'd be billed the full amount.  We were billed at times for services we didn't even use.  They would only send a technician out during normal business hours and insisted someone had to be home, so the wife took a day off work and they never showed.  After making a complaint they arranged another day for the technician to rock up so again the wife took a day off to be home, and again the technician never showed up!  They still billed us though for the technicians that never came!

They are worse than hopeless. We just broke our contract and went with Optus.  As bad as Optus may be, at least we can actually get access to the internet now.

I used to be with a small ISP - First link, and their support was that good, he'd invite you round for coffee, and while there he'd reimage your PC with his latest image! Latest versions of everything

They sold out and it all stopped.. the good service, etc.. lucky I still know Roger and his abilities to get the goodies, and what hardware is good/bad when building gaming PC's...

I think like most business, once they get big, customer service is "**** you - you need us" attitude.

oh they still offer that service... according to the majority of people on their Facebook page that used it, it resulted in a call back between 11pm and 2am...

Probably the worst customer service I have ever experienced. And I was previously with Telstra...

Weve been with iinet for about the last 8 years and had little to no issues ... multiple ppl playing online games etc at same time no reall issues ..... no connection probs either .... so were happy to be a customer .... never going back to telstra thou , high cost and limited d/load amounts ..... guess it all comes down to where you live and distance from node (think thats right) you are as to the connection you get
