Weight Distribution Dynamics

Just saw this on reddit and thought it was very interesting to see how much more control is had by having the same weight up front in a trailer compared to at the back of a trailer.

I actually noticed on the weekend, I took the Camper trailerravan to the farm and put a bit more weight in the rear storage and the effect was noticeable.
Won't be doing it again.....

I'm hoping to be putting an offer in on a 2nd hand camper in the next week or 2 and a tow hitch receiver on the back of the camper was high on my wish list for my 4 bike ISI carrier that I already own.

Having second thoughts about that plan after seeing this as it's a significant weight hanging a fair way back and I didnt have a true appreciation of the impact on stability. I thought it would be a positive impact due to lowering the ball weight. Can understand why Trackabout puts their ISI mounts on the draw bar now....

It would be interesting to see what effect the axle position has on the swing as well - that axle is fairly well centralised on the load bar (European style) compared to an Aussie trailer style.
