This is something thats worked for several years on the Photography forum I was on.

Quite simple really.
Basically, you give things away you don't need but others may want - but to get something you need to offer something.

I think everyone has a ton of stuff in the shed they would like to move on and make some space with.. Doesnt have to be a new set of tyres...

Rules:  This is about GIVING.

RULE 1 - You must offer up an item before you claim one.
So, if you haven't already offered something don't make a claim. Giving comes first.

RULE 2 - No offering an item just to get something else, get what you want, then remove your item from offer..

RULE 3 - No asking for items, or complaining if you think you deserved one that someone else received. Again, this is about giving

RULE 4 - The person getting the item is to cover shipping.

RULE 5 - Please only claim stuff you can and will use. Don't "claim and sell"...

RULE 6 - Once something is claimed, then mark it as so, and make sure the other party has put something up.

RULE 7 - PLAY NICE PEOPLE!

It's an honour system people

Looks like there hasn't been a free giveaway for a few months, so I'll kick it off for 2023.  I have a 8,000 kg snatch block (see pic) that I bought about 18 years ago and don't think I ever used it.  Pick up in Surrey Hills, Vic.  Reply to this post or send me a message.

GONE!!!

& had to have a bit of a chuckle - been listed as available for a month with no interest, so was going to the dump next week, then got 2 calls about it on Friday, after Mrs F had cut some of it up for the garden on Thursday! ::)

But a man with a chainsaw has just been & gone, having dropped the remaining trunk as well! ;D

Can anybody on the GC use any timber for woodturning, art work, next year's firewood or anything else ???

We had the trunk on one of our Grevilleas split recently, so the tree had to be dropped, & as a result, we've got a pile of chunks sitting here, ranging from ~8cm up to 20cm in diameter, & from 50cm - 1.2m long.

The stump is still there as well as it's been too hot to get out & drop it! It's 2m tall, 25cm at the top & 50cm diameter at the bottom, so if you want it, it's yours, as long as you bring a chainsaw! ;D

Not sure if this is of any interest to anyone, it’s a 5yr old 80channel GME TX3100 UHF radio, this is the portable unit which has a 12 volt plug and a small magnetic aerial so can be installed only when needed.
It has a new aerial, just purchased for $50. It may need a new microphone as receiving volumes by other vehicles is very low. New microphones are $50 to $60 and readily available.
I’m moving it on and fitting a permanent unit in my vehicle so this can go to someone who may want it as starter unit for them or one of their kids. All mounting brackets included, aerial and power cord have split conduit on them for protection.
PM if you want it, I will cover the postage to anywhere in Aus.
