Yeah I was keen to have a revisit there as it's been a long time since we last stayed at Bigriggen, but that crowd we saw has me in no hurry to return back there. I didn't want to deal with that crowd on Sunday searching for you as I had 2 other cars with me, so we turned around at the front gate and had a look at the numbers at Flannagans and Mt Barney Lodge before returning back to our camp.

should have joined us mate...we didn't have it to ourselves like you did, but there was only 4 camps there (including ours in that lot) on Saturday night and ours and one other on the Sunday night. Apparently they are only going to let previous campers stay there from now on the owners told us, they are restricting who camps there. A shame there's no creek running through the place, but the lack of other crowds makes up for it.

Yeah, I had about an hour conversation with Lou and she said that the camping was only really a small thing and they didn't want to grow it at all. The cafe is their baby.

Gonna give this place a miss now, they have jacked the max head count up from 800 to 1500, it is out of hand now.

Dogs out there as well, Dave? (& yes, there's usually a few 2-legged ones round, but I meant the furry, noisy 4-legged variety!)

Yep, just a few dogs, not too bad. None running around though.

the upside for them of Nigriggen being packed, was that plenty of people came there for a feed. They reckon Mothers Day they'll do 300 meals, so why would you bother putting up with grubs destroying your property for camping...Rod told a few campers at the cafe to come back and clean their mess from the camp next to us, also told them put out the fire they left burning also.

Flanagan's was good, no where near the numbers Big's gets, even though it was still busy being a long weekend we had our 12wk old with us and didn't have a problem, we even got an express pass into the shower from the owners being with an infant!

The last time we were at Bigriggen was Easter 2012 and it was just as bad then, swore after that we'd never go back.
