After a fair bit of research I am getting a (newly released) JJRC H5P, its is similar in that they are both based probably based on the SYMA X5C but it has a much bigger battery so longer flight time, I have seen some very good reviews about it and can be had for 2/3 the price on ebay, sacrifice is of course no local warranty.
Here are a couple of reviews for it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8XnJEtQB44 this is part 3 but of the review but the bit of it actually flying and the second one is from quadcopter101 who reviews pretty much all the quads https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FngMTK8loOg

It seems every adventure show on TV uses one these days.

I have to admit, the footage looks fantastic and I totally want one for those great vids cruising down a track in the desert.

I'm sure the lines will be big this weekend.
Cheers,

Supercheap have also got one in their catalogue on sale for $99.95 till 14/12/15. This should go faster than the Aldi cause it's a red one.

Maybe a return of the good ol" slingshot...probably hard to hit one, but good fun trying !!   ;D

And if you can't hit the drone, the owner might be an easier hit !!   :-*

Ok so starting to think twice about this , was working on my van the other day and had to look up as there was a loud noise from above , after looking around tracking the sound source I spotted a drone about 10 mtrs above me and of course I knew that I was being watched , so after giving it the bird it took off…following it i noticed it landing in a neighbours back yard. This is when I realised these things can be a total invasion of privacy if in the wrong hands.
Will not be buying one !

Soooo, you can break the trend and do the right thing and use it responsibly.....

Just because others don't do the right thing doesn't mean you cannot buy one......

What they were doing sounds illegal, this is worth a read for anyone with or contemplating a drone
