Oh lookout, we have a "forum nazi" weighing in.

Relax, put the diff lock on, climb another sand dune & enjoy the view.
Soooooo many threads get bogged down or sidetracked from the original post. In my opinion the forum loses credibility if the content of threads doesnt resemble the title. Forum nazi indeed lol....

Went down to ARB and tested the 47L with the cover on very easy to open/close so very impressed with the unit…
Did the same with the Engel with the cover on now thats a different story, more fiddling around with the cover before you can get to the latch…

The ARB definitely looks the goods as it looks more robust and could take a knock or two as it will be moved around quite a bit , the extra 7L volume wins it hands down for me so it's decided.

Thanks again guy's I appreciate all your feedback.

I also took the bride down to ARB Southside yesterday ..must say i don't often find myself feeling like I need to comment on customer service but the young bloke TIM down there was exceptional If he did not know an answer to one of my very tech questions he did not make stuff up and went and found the correct answer for me ..very impressed .no pressure sell at all. Once I pick camper up he said bring it down and we will trail fit the 60 / 78 to see which one you like best.

I will be getting the ARB in one of those 2 sizes. I agree with above comments about functionality with the cover fitted and single hand operated lid, front dials rear motor  :cup: and the wireless Bluetooth monitor is awesome. being able to see fridge temp and voltage in the car with fridge back in the camper is very clever and a built in port for a 60 sec install of it is good thinking from arb as well. Not sure if it will suit me but time will tell can buy it later if I need it .

We fitted a layer or builders insulation under the cover of our 47 lit ARB fridge, a tight fit,  ours sits where it is exposed to the sun when travelling. Very happy with it.
