We camped in that camp ground last week.  The sink hole has warning signs and advises to keep out but there were people fishing in the hole and kids swimming, even car tracks along the beach right up to the edge of the hole!  A lot of vehicles and a large tour bus were using the beach exit/entry not far from the hole to exit after coming back on the barge, a much better track then the usual longer and softer sand from the barge to the road.  You would think the authorities must be happy with the safety of that area now.  Kevin

It isn't safe. Happens all the time, as you know. Have a look at Inskip on google maps or earth. There's a massive sinkhole in that current satellite pic now, that no one saw, therefor no one cares about.  ;D

Look where it is. They going to stop the barges to Fraser now too ?

That point changes each year.  Sand builds up, sand gets taken away.  Has been happening since I first visited there by boat some 35 years ago.  Just watch the flow of water out through there when the Mary River is in flood!  And the waves on the ocean side can be enormous.  Some years ago a trawler went down not far out. Witnesses said it just disappeared in a large wave.  My father in law was a keen fisherman and he use to live at Rainbow Beach and he had some amazing stories of that area (Inskip Point).     Kevin

Also from the article
The army imam, Sheik Mohamadu Nawas Saleem, has previously called for sharia law to be introduced into Australia. He signed a petition supporting radical Islamic group Hizb ut-Tahrir, which has argued in favour of honour killings and said Muslim students should not be forced to honour Anzac Day.

See the government is trying to rush legislation through now to teach Islam in Aussie schools in a bid to stop kids becoming radicalised??? Yeah, seems like a good idea when the terrorists themselves are Islamic!

Does a $100,000 bonus for a job well done beat a pat on the back?

US oil and gas company Hilcorp's 1350 employees think so.

Every single employee - no matter how junior - received a $US100,000 ($137,000) bonus this year as part of a company-wide incentive program called "Dream 2015" to double the company's size.

And it did.

Hilcorp receptionist Amanda Thompson said: "It's just a true gift."

The bonus motivated everyone to do their absolute best, said Ms Thompson, who has worked with the company for 10 years.

She told Fox 26 nobody was going to give "any less than 100 per cent each day".

Hilcorp's payout has been hailed as the ultimate Christmas bonus by newspapers looking for good news stories, even though the bonus was paid in the US spring.
