Been listening to Buckethead on Spotify lately. He is a talent, doing lots of different genres.

“Whitewash” from his early “Colma” album gets a few spins on my playlists.

He’s also got some good collaborations with Les Claypool and Bernie Worrell (keyboardist from Parliament).
“Elephant Ghost” is one of my favorites, worth checking out if you haven’t already had a listen.

Early history of Iron Maiden.
Fairly lengthy, but if you have some time to kill, these videos are interesting even if you are not a die hard Maiden fan.
Back when musicians had to work hard for their success, rather than simply win a TV talent show and get popular on social media >:D

Aint that the truth. I wonder how many modern "artists" will still be regulars on whatever the airwaves are in 50 + years. Beatles still make over 70 million per year just on royalities. Floyd and the Stones etc would also be making tonnes of money from work 40 - 50 years old.

Cleaning up and doing the you tube shuffle to find interesting music to keep me awake.
One of the better live recordings of Rush's Working Man.

Was going to post this in the "what movies have you watched" thread, but those that would appreciate this one are probably watching this thread ;D.
Fascinating documentary on DW drums - insight into how they make them, achieve different tones.
Video culminates in the drum kit they built for Neil Peart for Rush's R40 tour - a one off custom kit made from a 1500 year old oak tree from Romania.

As a side question Glen I like the look of the "record" stand.  Do you make that and how?

I'm not an Elton John fan, but the wife is,  so we went along to his concert here. Gotta say for a bunch of old blokes (three of them in their 70s) they did put on a good show.  I did enjoy when they wandered off on extended instrumental jams.
I am still intrigued by bands with two drummers though. Why? How does it not get messy?

Funny you should mention that. I’ve recently discovered The Dirtbombs.
Their album Ultraguide In Black is worth checking out.
2 drummers, 2 bass players and the singer on guitar.

They mostly keep the drums reasonably simple and keep it pretty tight. But their music style is pretty messy.... ;)

Reminds me of the old saying...  Drummers are people who hang around with musicians  >:D >:D

TOOL has been in high rotation at our place since their new album came out in August.    I went to their gig in Melb. ~3 weeks ago and was blown away,  yet again.    Danny Carey is a downright genius on the drums.

Off to see New Order on saturday so I'll be giving them a spin over the next few days too.

imagine what some of the 50/60's bands would sound like with the 20 drum piece kits they use today... Ringo with 20 drums not just 3 piece.. LOL

Yes Danny Cary is brilliant, I'm amazed at drummers ability to have all 4 limbs doing different things, but he just makes the rest look like amateurs. I seen Tool in Perth, glad they come to Aus early in the year as I would be devo if it was now.

Sitting back with a glass of red chilling to Atomic Heart Mother. A very under rated album IMO
