Do we know why he can't be there until 10am, he may have a legit reason, ask him.

He was at the pub with Mates which is his usual Friday night.
He did ruck up at 9:00 which was better than 10.
I did explain the way it would be from now on and he agreed.
I asked the question on here just to be sure I was not being unreasonable.
He is my best mate and other than enjoying a lie in of a morning I cant fault him.

......

Not a valid reason IMO.
If he wanted the job done, surely he could forego it for one night.

Not unreasonable. If he wants something done at mates rates he needs to be the mate that turns up when needed. Or send him to canopy builder

Bit of a poor excuse, could have understood if it was a serious matter.  At least you have since sorted it but I agree if you ask for help you keep the agreed times

I spent the morning vaccumming the shed which I have been putting off for a week, so the hour delay was not a total loss.
I have Bens word that any help from myself is strictly on my time schedule.
Thank you for your input folks.
If anyone is wondering, 6 hours after we started plan A  we found it wouldnt work.
The dimensions the supplier provided were not any where near correct.
Hopefully plan B will be a success...

Great to see you helping mates out and that reflects on your character. Best mates are best mates for a reason and not everyone is perfect which helps the world go round.
I have a few mates but only two I consider best mates and they both live 2-3 hours away in different directions so hang on to the ones you have faults and all.

Glad to see that "common sense" has prevailed and you still have a mate....

Plan B was put on hold because the steel shop is closed Sundays.
My next day off is not until  Tuesday next week so should see the steel work done then,
Then it is off to the canvas mob.
Once it is back we will start the battery box, place fridges, install the water tank etc etc.
I will try to get pictures.
