???????
Not sure why the aggression,  but this post doesn't help anyone in anyway.
I'm not sure how you "tried" a Modcon as I know of no hire units anywhere.
Just to clarify are you referring to rear fold or forward fold?

Cheers
Nick

The aggression wasn't towards you, Let's get that very straight.
It was toward a pathetic troll with an opinion as rubbery as his mentality. One minute he's saying buy Australian, the next he's jumping on threads like this as a modcon sycophant, which, you'd agree as an importer of Chinese trailers, is absurd.

Now he's accusing me of being the owner of mdc (yes bird, I met him through the owners page) and masquerading as a random person to railroad you guys.

His bullShit hurts you more than it hurts anybody else, such is often the case.

I apologised to you first time around and wished you all the best as I recall.

FYI, your company was recommended by a couple of friends who have had modcon trailers in the past, and was one of about 5 we shortlisted. We booked and spent half an afternoon at Capalaba going through both fwd and rear folds. My wife and I came away wondering (apart from stickers and paint jobs) what your point of difference was. You've pointed a few out and that's nice. I'd argue that a casual observer might take a more Prima facie view than an industry insider and miss most of the things you mentioned.
I don't need to go any further.
Again, I wish you well, your product made it to our Shortlist and we had a pleasant experience dealing with your company. I hope you take this feedback in the way it was intended.

The modcon is the same trailer as the mdc just different stickers.

I just bought a Modcon FF1 recently and you don't have to go to a showroom, just look at the pics on their websites and you'll see they are different, not rebadged.

I have no problem with a MDC product or any Chinese product (including Modcon's FF1) as long as it is of good quality, my decision was that I was dealing with the business owners not sales people.

I was impressed with a Western Australian CT but decided it was too far away to talk to the people in charge.
GBC you need to rethink how you word what you intended to say, they are not from the same factory.
Misinformation and innuendo can do a quality importer/manufacturer untolded damage.

I finally pulled the trigger on a CT and I gotta say it's bloody hard to sort through the Chinese whispers, facts, half-truths and sales-pitches in the $18K to $25K price bracket. I see heaps of people say "get an aussie secondhand one" but the spec lists don't compare. Therefore you are left with the decision of specs + perks v aussie made quality + maybe not what you really want. Sure, spend another $10k to $20K and you will be fine but you're asking people to add 50% to 100% to their budget.
I looked at the Patron and a few other similar ones (built on GIC spec) and wondered why these other companies hadn't had the complaints that GIC had. These other companies were about $6k more but had dealt with some of the GIC issues before delivery and offered much better after sales support. Thankfully the latest Patron resolved some of the issues themselves and I got to see these in the Melb showroom where they have the older model there to compare.
Prob the best person I have dealt with was Evo. He repeatedly said "you need to find the right camper trailer for YOU". i loved the Quattro but in all honesty (and hindsight) it wasnt the right one for us, although the reasonably quick setup was very alluring and initially had me sold. The room of the Patron (inc size of kitchen) turned out to be what we needed.
Also, I was very frank with GIC about some of the reviews I had read and they were very honest and frank in return. (I feel for those that had problems during 2015). (i must add - 70% of owners i have actually had direct contact with have been overall positive about the GIC purchase and all the owners i have met camping have only had good things to say.)
Anyway, I really just wanted to say that if you are thinking of a Patron or a Dominator I'm happy to share what I have learned and it's not as scary as you think. BUT if evo sold an equivalent to the patron (for not too much more money) i would have bought that because I know the guy would do everything he could to sort out any problems. And I'm not just saying that because i probably should buy the guy a bottle of Scotch ;)

Blue Water were the ONLY camper trailer company to tell me their camper trailer (Snowy) wouldn't meet my standards and I probably shouldn't buy one - after I questioned some of the build issues and asked many times over 8 weeks for proper photos or any video on the current model. Definitely the WORST CT company I dealt with.
I previously owned a Blue Water Tirari. The after sales support was shocking.
I drove to their Melb showroom (4.5hrs) after speaking to salesperson who said they had one on display. Got there and the front box wasn't mounted straight and you couldn't even open it up because it hadn't been fitted out. 8 weeks later I asked if they were displaying one at the Adelaide leisure show and was told definitely. Flew there and guess what? No CT. It did however arrive two days late so I asked if they could please take photo's (preferably video) of the set up. Nope - didn't happen.
